Hello ! I joined the forum some time ago, but I've never posted here before because I'm sort of.. shy. Since Mr. Wetdog assured nobody would bite me (at least not too hard), here I am.... My name is Maeli and I am Drago's mum. I know some of the people who post here because I met them in Bratislava, at the eurodogshow 2003. It was a wonderful experience that left us exhausted (so long a journey by car!) but terribly happy. His real name is Steadlyn Frostwinds and we'd like to say hello to everybody, known and unknown! with love Maeli and Drago

Hi Maeli--now that didn't hurt so bad did it? I'm glad you've come out of the bushes and decided to talk to us. I hope you'll like it and hang around. I like the name Drago, does that mean dragon?

"Drago" is the Italian word for "dragon". I know it's a bit pompous, but I chose it because I wished that little scared puppy would become big and brave... as a dragon - And he did so!

Hello Maeli! We have one weimaraner, Steadlyn Alexander here in Croatia, he was the first weimaraner imported to Croatia from Italy!!! Where in Italy do you live exactly? Who are the parents of Drago? Is his father Jim Bob? How old is Drago? Welcome on forum! Best regards, Kristina & Weimpoint gang

Hi Maeli from Australia...welcome to the board, we have sent a Wei to Italy, her name is Greydove Jive Bunny and we have had lovely photos of her enjoying the beautiful Italian countryside....snow too!
Italy is one of my favourite countries, I have visited many times but don't know alot about the Weimaraners bred there....I heard a new Nani dog just arrived and I do know of the Steadlyn bred dogs but not much else so do let us all know about the Weimaraner in Italy!
Narelle ;D

Hi Kristina, Ilana and Narelle , let's answer to your questions: Drago is half-brother to Steadlyn Alexander - their father is Nani's James Robert (Jim Bob). Drago's mother is Tetropbell du val du Centenaire. He is 6 years old by now, and we live near Fermo, half way through Italy. We admired Greydove Jive Bunny at weimaraner specialty shows here in Italy, she is so nice, just like her owners! We also met wonderful Greydove at Kan Trace and her owner Natalia (she also owns Steadlyn Alexander) at the international dogshow in Ancona. Steadlyn weimaraners were bred by Thomas Wastiaux and Mia Ejerstad, mixing American and Belgian lines. Unfortunately, they gave up weimaraner breeding and now "Steadlyn" is only for Rough Collies. It's a real pity because they had such good results! Many of the Steadlyn dogs are champions. I know that a Nani's male weim is going to come to Italy, but I don't know wether he's arrived yet. The owner already imported a Nani's bitch two years ago and she is really beautiful! The number of weims in Italy is getting bigger and bigger every year, and they are from different lines - American, Belgian, German, Polish, Croatian etc. I hope my answers have been exhaustive, if you wish to know something more... just ask! regards Maeli

Wow, thanx for such quick and thorough answer!!! When you mentioned croatian lines, which weims did you mean? I am asking this, because it's well known to me that there has not yet been any litters of weims in Croatia, so there's still no croatian lines. Have you been on international dogshow in Milano at beginning of the year 2005? I have been there with Faust. Maybe we've met! I met Telma Tucci and president of the italian weimaraner club, and of course the famous Ettore Frapporti, with whom I talked a lot about breeding weims in Italy. There were arround 22 weims at the show. It was a really nice expirience for me to take part on my first show in Italy. You have very beautifully oranized shows, I loved it. I will come more often, but next year, when Allegro grows a bit more, becomes adult, comes into open class and gets more substance. Hope we will meet than!
Put a photo of Drago, please. So curious how he looks...
Best regards, Kristina

Kristina, we weren't at the Milan dogshow in 2005 (at that time we were preparing for Crufts!). Anyway, I think you could have results with Allegro from the Young class, he is so beautiful! I know Telma Tucci very well, 6 years ago I was due to buy a puppy from her, but her bitch wasn't pregnant, so she put me in contact with Steadlyn kennels. And then I think I misunderstood something: the "famous" Ettore Frapporti (whom I know very well, too) told me he had dogs from Croatia, when I wrote about Croatian lines I was thinking about him... but surely I misunderstood. I definitely won't be able to put a photo on this forum, so if you wish I'll send you one to your email address, even though I couldn't make a single good photo of Drago.... nobody taught me how to handle him and nobody taught him to be handled!. So please don't be disappointed! regards Maeli

Dear Maeli,
first of all, thank you for such a compliment about my Allegro. I'd love to go with him to Italy on a "hunt" on italian junior championship, but that would cost me a lot of money, because of the distances and number of shows we would have to go, to close the junior championship. So, for this year I have made some other plans for him that are also very good, but accomplish also very well with my pocket (my financial situation) ;-)
I know Thomas, the Steadlyn establisher, well. He was the one who advised me where should I look for my first show quality pup... That's when I got my Faust.
About Ettore, as I remember, his lines are based on Polish and/or Czech weims, more a working stronger type of weims. Do you know maybe if Ettore still has it's web site??? I had it once and lost it. And do you have his e-mail adress? I have one on which he never answers. Please, when you meet him, send him my best greetings and tell him we will meet hopefully next year and that I'm looking foward to meet him again. He is so funny and nice man. Loves to talk and brag. He is sweet.
Please, send me a picture of Drago on my e mail adress. I'd love to see him. It doesn't have to be a photo of him professionally stacked. It is really not important to me to see him stacked. Just send the picture that you love the most of him.
Best regards,
Kristina
