I love the kennels at yeadon its a lovely location my dog came from there, have to say it was the most amasing thing to see so many dogs all in the same paddock, happy, no fighting and very friendly :-)

Hi Sue, We have 10. They all sleep in the house, but in crates, with a different one or two who get to be the house dog/dogs for the night and sleep in the bedroom, but not on the bed. They don't all get along. The boys hate each other, as do several of the girls. Hence the rotation scheme. And yes, headstrong as Rana may be, YOU have be more so. We have a boarding kennel and will be welcoming about 90 dogs + 40 cats shortly (I say 'welcoming' but I am not sure that I really mean it LOL!) and I use the 'I am the Boss' with all of them too, and it works. I hope to get over and see Yorkshire one day. My partner was born there, and I have family history there myself. Bradford, but about 200 years ago. Welcome and don't forget the pics VBG! Wendy in Oz

Hi Sue, welcom here. My two boys hate each other too and can't be together out of the crate. They fight like hell and when i'm not interrupt them, i think they will wound each other very much. Now i put one of them in a crate and the other is out of it, change them a few times a day and that works very good.

Lynn or Tasha. Reading up on my last messages just now, and we were discussing the kennels at Yeadon. Can you explain the long pipe they use.... whats that all about? Was it a cruel thing. Its just that my Rana stayed there for two weeks when we went away 3 years ago, she was only a few months old, and the state she came back in, was awful. We said never again would we leave our dogs in kennels, as much as I enjoy looking around that place, with all their lovely Weims........

The pipe is/was a blue piece of piping which was used to stop the dogs from misbehaving. It only had to be lifted in the air & the dogs would back away.
I must stress that this was on their own dogs & not boarding dogs. I used to board my dogs their too many many years ago & they always came back in a bad state.
I must also stress though thnat Weim araners are NOT good in kennels. They are house dogs & do stress so lose lots of weight etc.

I don't think it's fair to discuss someone on a public forum like this. I have been there as well and I only saw happy dogs in good health. The kenneled dogs as well.
