Wow Rachel I saw your website as well and I am wondering the same thing.. but it looks like you have a lot of open spaces for your gang to get out and about in. getting some peace may be a bit difficult with one still in the complete puppy stage. Falko seems to get into the "play mood" at bedtime and also right before the kids leave for school, after everyone has had breakfast. How is the obedience coming with her? jai hi jai, lola is almost 4 months old and she is a complete contrast to how wilson was at that age. however he may have been the same had we had another dog for him to play with. they get along great together but my only concern is lola. when there playing together she seems to get over excited and she often pins him down and growls alot when mouthing him. it looks a little vicious to be honest and at times i feel like i have to step in and calm things down although i'm sure wilson would let her know if she was going to far. can anyone tell me if this is normal for puppies to behave this way and am i best off keeping out of it and let the dogs sort out who is boss? we have had wilson neutered when he was 6 months old for obvious reasons and i don't know if this would affect his behaviour because he does seem submissive towards her. anyone got any help? thanks gary

Falko just turned 4 months friday.. he does not growl when he plays or mouths. And actually the only time we have heard him use his voice for anything is when he was put in his crate for the first time last week.. I know you said that Wilson is 10 months and it sounds like he is just letting her rough him up because of the age.. We had a german sheppard and a weim several years ago. (weim male and sheppard female) and she was younger than he was and she was more dominant. I also had him fixed before he was 6months old. He unfortunately had contracted Parvo at about 5/6 months old and he became very 'docile' and very submissive. I do think that Wilson will let her know. I also have 3 girls, and let me tell you those kids have put our pets to the test when they were younger. From trying to 'ride the dog' pulling the tails. closing doors on them, wrestling their toys from puppy mouths.. etc. My dogs and pups allowed them to do this, infact they would just lay down or walk off if the dog had too much. I would watch it, but let them try to work it out. If he gets hurt, or she draws blood, then I think you have a more serious "play" just my thoughts.. jai

Hi
We do have a large garden, all in all just under 5 acres. I could not cope other wise. So a walk for me is out of the door and around the fields in my wellies. Its Weimy heaven.

I am more accustomed to the open fields and the freedoms for the dogs to get out and safely roam around the yard. But here in Germany, most of the housing in the bigger communities are stairwell or duplex with small "patio" yards. We live in a nice area with a lake and fields all within a few minute walk. Even if I get in the car and drive someplace, in a couple of km there are walking and hiking trails and big fields and lakes. When Falko gets a bit bigger I will start taking him on a walk to the lake. Right now we are learning how to go down the stairs by ourselves because we weigh 18 kg and our owner is not the strongest! LOL

I should add that you dont have to have tons of garden to own a Weimaraner. Love is what is needed.

Yes i have forgotten how funny they are and the different personalities they have.. Falko learned how to walk down the stairs last week. And he knows to walk next to the wall on the way down next to me! But in the morning when it is cold and dark, he seems to have amnesia near the stairs. I mean he looks at the stairs, he looks at me, he looks back to the door to the house and looks back at me.. I am waiting for him to say " You want me to do WHAT LOL
