Sorry that it's taken me a while to post this news... Hubby did the post for me on the other forum, and I've been waiting for the biting mosnter to sleep, so that I could introduce her here!
Last weekend (4th March) we collected Glas Islwyn, or Izzy, as our new addition to the family. After a day of being relatively queit, she has certainly "come out of herself" and is a real live wire!! When she's asleep, she's an angel, but when she's on the loose....!
Oops - I'm going to have to go and check how to add piccies, and post them later!

lets try.... her first day home at 9 weeks - she's quick! a lesson from Cassie "Don't bite my tail!" (I'd like to think that she learned that lesson, but 10 seconds later, the little scamp was pouncing on the old girl again! Poor Cassie - she's finding it a very trying time!)

Congratulations, Sian:) Her name sounds Irish, do you have an Irish Lass?
So she is pushing her limits with her elders;) You will have to wear her out with learning:)

Hi Cheryl, Actually, Glas Islwyn is a Welsh name that we chose for her. Islwyn is an area in South Wales, and is where my husband was born and grew up. "Glas" is one of those words that makes Welsh such an interesting language. Normally it means "blue", but in the north of Wales (where the dialect is very different) it can mean "green". However, in certain contexts (in both dialects), and in old Welsh, it means "grey". We had to choose a name beginning with "G", as it's G-year here in Belgium. I liked the way the name 'changes colour' in the same way that the eyes do, and also that wrimaraners do in certain light. Izzy is definitely a live wire. Training is the only way that we can move forward, especially with my old girl not coping with the tail-biting! Speaking of training, Izzy spent her first night in her crate downstairs last night (up until then, we've brought the crate into our bedroom at night). Oh the howling!! She whined, chimp-chatted (no other way to describe it!) and howled for over 4 hours non-stop. I relented in the end, and sat at the top of the stairs quietly talking to calm her down. In the end I had to sleep on the landing, as she would go to sleep, but every time she woke to turn etc, she'd start up again. Tomorrow night, I'm dragging a spare matress onto the landing.... my poor back!! Sian

What a beautiful name with the meaning, perfect:)
Sian, there's an easier way to crate train:) If you can, leave one in the bedroom and another in the main room of your house. I also leave one in the vehicle and just close the crate door for very short periods, unless it is overnight or we are driving somewhere. Then, little by little they are accepting the increaed time and soon are able to crate themselves or on command:) (there was a song; Getting to Know You...the crate, my friend...my cave) LOL Cheryl

strange you should say that, Cheryl!
We currently have our crate in the lounge (used everywhere for the first week); a friend's crate in the bedroom (used for night-time for the past week), and a 3rd crate in the car (no problems with this "travel crate" as yet!)
The problems we had last night were because we were keeping her downstairs - where-ever - rather than upstairs! I'm moving a spare bed onto the landing tonight, ready to smooth-talk her down, through any pannics...
(sorry my typing is out of kilt - too much passion, too much rugby!)
