:-XTo all who have asked, and those of you who haven't met my new babies here are my new additions Tahr and Weka, at time of photo were 8 weeks old, there Sires line is Von Wasserschloss and the Dams is Reiteralm USA lines and it looks like we have one pup from each side with Tahr being a lot different than the finer Weka. Tahr is of course named after the Himalayan Tahr that lives in the mountains of the Himalayas and New Zealand, Weka is a cheeky New Zealand flightless native bird that is always looking for something, I think the names match the pups. Weka never misses anything and is always testing the air and ground for cent she is the boss and has two live chickens to her credit and one shot rabbit. Tahr is slower more methodical and has only shared in the rabbit with Weka but she is very powerful even at this age, dragging her smaller sister and the rabbit over the ground, now the fun starts with training I have started separating them at nights now as they are ten and a half weeks old and need to find independence from each other, ???anybody who has any tricks re training two bitches from the same litter please let me know.

Puppy photos are always a delight to look at. Have fun!
Training two bitches from the same litter is always hard as they tend to bond with each other. Just make sure if you can that you train on different nights. Take one to one training class and go with the other the next week. Or if you can find two class's per week. If you take them together they will be worrying about what the other one is doing. Or you could try leaving one out of the way whilst the other is training but that usually means a crying puppy and it puts the other one off. Rachel

thank you for taking the time to introduce your new girls....
they are wonderful - and they both look so serious!!
No tips for training 2 the same age, but when I train my 2 (with nearly 11 years between them!) I have to close the door on one, and then get far enough away so that the "working" dog doesn't hear the noise. One thing that's good though - when you're out "not working", but using commands, they may well vie with each other to be the first, in the hope that they get the bigger treat!! But you must be used to that already, with your other dogs... grannies and eggs again, Sian!!
I'm sure that someone will be able to give you much more relevant advice. Meanwhile - keep us posted, and remember we love pictures!!

Congratulations John! You got what you wanted:) My advice is to work separately, train together sometimes, depending on their progress and allow them to sleep together as much as apart, to decrease stress and to allow them to feel welcome in their companionship along w/keeping each other warm when/if you do the bad weather outings;)
