Ania, the pictures are really great! Where was this lure coursing? Personally I like very much the outfit that Cisa wore to "warm" her muscles! hihi And those photos in movement just great! She looks so happily. It looks it was a wonderful day for you two. Hugs Magda&Blaster

Hi Ania, I love the pics of Cisa and the little 'warm-up' suit was fantastic! I do not know what lure coursing is and what you do.. can you explain a little please? Thanks, jai and falko

Hey jai, Lure cursing is a contest for sighthounds...the rule is to follow the lure as fast as it's possible plus....dog has to use intelligence, has to have a strategy etc.,etc (this is the same as working trials are for the gun dogs, just lure coursing is for X FCI group and few breeds from 5 FCI group).....this kind of competition is not for the gundogs at all...more even....probably most of the guys who works with hunting dog are against this (as maybe it is not the best thing to teach a right behaviors...anyway I wouldn't exaggerate with this )....but,to overtake your questions, my personal opinion is that IF you are doing this as a fun (cause it can be just as a game for the gundogs,as agility etc.,etc) with your dog and you can be sure that it doesn't interrupt a REAL work of your hunting dog.....it's ok. Week after her first lure coursing Cisa did excellent job on very important field trials and she did fantastic, she took 9 for 10 points possible, 1 level diploma and she had no problems with keeping cool in front of the hare (and she is not perfectly trianed in this...we were lucky too...anyway I can be sure that the whistle for her HAS a meaning...on lure coursing you don't use the whistle )....then she participated in few hunts during the season and it was also without problems with her obedience. Anyway...I know....everybody has right to have own opinion....my my opinion is....first try....then give an opinion ;D And before you try...you have to be sure to have an effect on your dog...otherwise it can really spoil a dog. In sum - we had such a fun with Cisa that day ;D Cheers, Ania

Thanks Ania for the explanation. It looks like such fun and I can see the agility in it and the use of the dogs speed and intelligence, especially to stay with the lure and not get distracted or unfocused. Great job on the field trials.. I am thinking the concentration she used during the lure coursing must have been a great asset. Glad you had such a wonderful time! jai and falko
