I'm not sure if I posted about the jolly that we had recently for a Working Test training day held by Lisa Coull so I thought I would post some of the photos from the day....
We started off the day with a little tracking training, a small footstep track was laid at each footfall a piece of sausage was placed as a reward for the dog for following the track. The track was marked with two coloured posts one at each end with the ground being a clean piece at each new track.
Tracking lesson
The pups were given a little break enough time for a little bit of fuss and a chance to watch the older dogs do their stuff.
A nice little tummy rub
We were lucky enough to see one of the pups siblings whose owners joined us on the day.
Our lovely Diesel & his owner Mandy
The boys practised their chat up lines on a lovely little girl named Skye whilst Charley was doing her training.
Always time for a little playtime....
With so many dogs and a few people short of a partner George got to share his treat bowl with a friend.
little and large...
In the afternoon after lunch we started on articles, these included keys, pieces of carpet, rubber, spoons, pipes, and a variety of other odds and ends, George particularly liked the pipe

Then we moved onto the scale and long jump obviously as the puppies are only small we watched the scale performed by Lisa's lovely Della and did one element of the long jump as a team. Obviously with pups bones you have to be careful.

First jump (honest they only did a tiny one so no damage done!) George on left Charley on Right

Attention!
Working trials are very popular in the UK and several Weimaraners have excelled in this field of competition. Longhairs in particular seem to take very well to this arena with several qualifying.
Although it is an interesting arena with several cross overs for hunting especially with the jumping and tracking the training for each does not compliment each other so we will only be attending this day for now, a very interesting a fun day though which all the pups loved.
At the end of the day we had a fun retrieve with a prize of a bottle of wine which Charley won for me she had to collect an unboiled egg without damaging it, a brass buckle, the pipe and a bonio (dog biscuit) without eating it, clever Charley ;D ;D
