my weimy maddie is about 20 months old now and still whines like a puppy. (even though she kind of still is one)
everytime my mum (im 19 and live at home) goes out of the room, or say gets oout of the car whilst maddie is still in there she goes absolutely mental, she whines uncontrolably and takes no notice of us saying now or trying to calm her down. she also whines when we are going for a walk, but i think thats through excitement and knows where shes going.
like at the moment of writing this, i'm in the lounge with her, my sister has just come home from school, came in and said hello to maddie and then gone upstairs to get changed to take maddie out for a walk, and whilst left in th lounge with me she constantly whines.
i don't know whether this is anxiety or excitement. but its really annoying lol. she is one of the most whiney dogs ive known.
any ideas?

Has she ever been trained to stay alone? It calls for training as everything else.

yeah, since she was a puppy we've made sure she was used to being on her own. my mum works, i go to uni, my sisters go to school so she is alone for part of the day. how do you train a dog to stay on its own? its a tricky one.

you do it slowly at first by leaving a room and then coming back a few minutes later and praise you increase the time your away gradually so that she knows your coming back and not leaving her. You don't praise for noise only for quiet.
If you look up training for separation anxiety that will help you.
