I love reading all the post and views from different people but some dont complete their profile and so we have no idea where they are from? With this being worldwide weimaraners... I would love to see where people are from. PLEASE fill in your profile so it comes up with where you live when you post Lynn

I agree Lynn---and it is nice to meet the people that you become friends with on the boards. If you include where you live in your profile, you just might meet some very nice people. And you never know who you'll meet at the dogs shows.
We have a lot of people who have joined and never left a post. How about leaving us a little post to introduce us to you if you haven't, we'd like to meet everyone and include them in the conversations.
Obviously everyone is here because they love Weimaraners. Do you have other interests as well? I'm interested in history, especially the US history of the Civil War and Old West, hiking and camping with my dogs especially in the Rocky Mountains, and music, jazz, bluegrass, country and western, and Irish and Scottish Traditional folk music.
Here's a hint to the people getting on MSN Messenger. Irena and I tried the Audio Chat with headphones/microphone and it is great--even better quality sound than talking on the telephone, and it doesn't cost a thing. If you have one of the higher speed internet connections, give it a try. I don't know how it works with dial up--but we are having very good results with it.

I agree, even just a country would be good. I love to know where I am talking to! I have boarding kennels now, but in a past life I was a Welfare worker, have worked in retail, for the Post Office, hardware, in a jewellers - even pierced ears! I worked in a grooming salon, but my passions are family tree research - although I have well and truly replaced that with pedigree research, and find that much more interesting. Before buying the kennel, I was half way through a degree at the National Institute of the Arts, which is just down the road from here, pity I have no time to go anymore! My major was ceramics, with a minor in glass, but I see the potters wheel as an implement of torture - try as I might, I CANNOT make 6 matching coffee mugs, but I can make YOU- even life size. Ceramic sculpture is my thing. I have an interst in genetics, and want to do study in that area too. I am sure we have some amazingly interesting people on this list, I would love to know more about them. Wendy

Well, I'll jump in. To recap from my introduction, I'm an American living in France. My husband is French. We still go back and forth to America. Our other home being the SF Bay area. I'm a freelance Graphic Designer. I've worked for large corporations, catalogs and magazines in America. I've also studied photography and worked in professional photo services for many years. I was a professional hand-colorist and did seminars for Kodak. I also make jewelry. I like history and reading. I like going for long walks. I've just started gardening - organic gardening, and I like to cook.

Irena and I LOVE the Pink Panther movies, and we are often imitating Peter Sellers as Inspector Clouseau, LOL, which I would suppose would make your husband (or most any real French person) want to do Inspector Dreyfuss a BIG favor and shoot us. I spent 6 weeks in Rheims when I was in high school, and I loved every minute of it. I'm planning to get back one day. Irena and I have been talking about doing some driving/camping trips trips to other areas of Europe from Riga(with Les Doggies of coarse). We'd like to do photo/articles of places we visit and publish them on the web. LOL, good thing you like history, there SURE is a lot of it to discover in France. It sounds like you have some VERY interesting work and other things going on in your life.

Have you seen The Life and Death of Peter Sellers? I really enjoyed that film and I thought Geoffrey Rush was brilliant as Peter Sellers.

Oh, my husband takes teasing well. We have the whole collection of the Pink Panther. I love them too. You'll have to come by to see us if you make it to the Loire Valley. It is very historic. My husband was born in Chinon. There is a lot of English history there as well. Henry II, Eleanor of Aquitaine and Richard the Lion-hearted. (If you saw the "Lion in Winter" with Katherine Hepburn and Peter O'Toole it is supposed to take place in Chinon.) Also, Joan of Arc came to Chinon to persuade Charles VII to fight for his kingdom.

I don't know where to post this, but in talking about members. I'm always amazed at how well so many Europeans speak English (those who do not speak it natively of course!) Thank you for making this list possible and for the consideration of doing it in a different language!

For those whose English isn't perfect---that's alright, please join in too, nobody is grading these posts for spelling or grammar. (there is a spell checker at the bottom too!)
Last night, I worked with people from Ukraine, India, Jamaica, Kenya, Nigeria, and Mexico---and everyone has something interesting to tell me. Fred(from Kenya) was telling me about bringing his dogs in at night because Lions would come around his yard--WHOA!!!!----something I'm glad I don't have to worry about!!!

Hi everyone, I'm from Nome & Kotzebue. You cross the Arctic Circle to get to Kotzebue (Alaska). Right now we are celebrating Spring which is still winter to most people not from here. We celebrate the return of the sun, and the first dog musher running the Iditarod should be here tonight or tomorrow. The race commemorates the serum run from the flu epidemic. It feels so warm at 16 above zero, that the weims are very "spritely" and at 1am the wind died down and with the full moon so bright it casts your shadow like sunshine, we wanted to stay up all night...and play outside. The barren snowy landscape makes me feel like we are living on the moon, sparsely populated and able to walk for miles.

Wow, I like this subject! Strange I haven't noticed it earlier... somehow it slipped through my eyes.... I definitely agree with you that it is very curious to know who are the people with mysterious nicknames and the same passion for weimaraners Although sometimes it's also nice to remain incognito especially when you don't feel that "brave" as the others OK, I'm Lithuanian and live in Vilnius. Married and have one daughter 6 y (has anybody any kids? or I'm alone... : and, of course, my boy Athelas I am an HR person and work for one big manufacturing company. Well, surprisingly or not - I have a passion for a similar things already mentioned above - photography, design, gardening, traveling and dogs. We have spend more than 4 years residing in Middle East and meantime trying to accommodate ourselves here ;D I hope more of you guys will introduce yourself here

Hi Adatele, This is a great subject, and I had never noticed it either. I too am interested in the people that I see from all the different places in Europe and world wide. So, here I go, braving out there to introduce myself..
So, here goes!! I am American and married with 3 children (all girls 15, 11 and 9) We have spent the past 4+ years in Europe. I have lived in Italy and now we live in Germany. My girls have told me they are never returning to the states becuase they love being in Europe. My oldest daughter will be interviewing for a private school in London next weekend. So we are doing a bit more traveling.. (Lynn, if I have time I will ring you and try to meet you somewhere, in-between my travels) I have had a weim in the past and miss him dearly. I have been looking for another one; I have posted on the puppy enquiries and have received many wonderful comments, suggestions and information about litters/rescue. Thank you all for that, I appreciate it. Well, lastly I have been a home-body mom for 12 years. My actual careers are in rehabilitation for people with traumatic brain injuries and children with hearing/visual impairments. I have been a teacher in the schools, but prefer to stay home to enjoy my children and their activities. All 3 of my girls are sports minded and enjoy the outdoors tremendously. We as a family (my husband when he can) go hiking, camping, traveling and play soccer and softball. Well, I am out of things to say.. I love to see the pics of all your dogs. I have many pics of bruno ( he has been gone since 2002) all over my house still. It is nice to see that he did the same as your dogs do!! Tchus!

what a lovely topic, as we are putting our potted history in I'll add mine. I am presently a student studying Media Practise and Theory (have been now for years) which is the technical side of the media industry and encompasses camera work, editing, lighting, studio's, sound, script writing, photography, exhibitions etc etc my minors have been in English Literature and subjects like death and burials in different cultures around world and the usual film genre's. I'm also studying gamekeeping and now on my second course which starts this monday which will have deer management and fisheries included as well as the gamekeeping and countryside management elements. Hobbies wise well they range from hiking, horseriding, reading, researching (pedigree's, family trees, house histories etc), sailing, fishing, cycling etc all the usual stuff. My favorite besides the dogs at the moment is Band Photography and you can see what i've been up to on www.myspace.com/tashaphillips my last two assignments were for the american band Orson and the Uk band the Automatics. My past is a bit of a mish mash of jobs I used to be a professional temp so have done roles from accountant to being dressed up as a tomato on a pair of rollerskates acting as hostess for a club event. I used to be a dancer and when I grew up :-) I worked for the banks and american express as a metrics analyst & project manager (financial and business process statistics). My first job was as a maiden in distress and trekking leading for an English Jousting Show who in the winter season did american trekking. Horses have always been a big part of my life as the family are all involved in one way or another along with great danes which is our family breed. I don't have any children and I'm not married although I have nearly made it to the isle twice... I get cold feet!! My partner is an englishman whose parents are french and german, his mum and dad live in bordeaux but his family were known for their participation in the Westminster & Ditchling Presses and the Sussex Guild. Mine are a bit worldly as I'm a mish mash of Indian/English/ Welsh/Spanish/Portugese :-) Goals are eventually to own a german dog that passes its german working tests :-)
