I think your vet is the best one to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of putting Storm on medication.
I don't know who your trainer is, or what his or her qualifications might be, and I'm not there to see exactly what Storm is doing and what you are doing. So I'm not saying this to be derogatory to your trainer in anyway.
I would be very hesitant to put a dog medication however, especially for a problem that would be better handled by training and/or conditioning. Medications can often not have the desired effect---and often some very undesirable side effects. They can also sometimes work at first and then over time as a tolerance builds decline in effectiveness, requiring larger doses and the greater possiblity of side effects or making it necessary to stop them, in which case you are right back in the same boat.
I'd suspect a problem with socializing--in which case I recommend some intensive get him out in the public and meeting as people in as many different situations as you can. If you need to, fit him with a muzzle while you are doing this so there is no possiblity of anyone getting bit.
How is your training going with this trainer? Ask yourself honestly if you are really in control or just a treat dispensor. If you are not satisfied with your level of control, go to my website and read the article "Training, Getting Started" in the training section.
I'd only use medication after these two things fail.

What is the reason your trainer says to use clomicalm?? And what is the next she wants to do if Storm is on the medicine?
The only thing with medicins is that they are an helping hand. Not at all it is a treatment. So you still have to work with Storm to train and socialize him. Not that you think he has a medicin problem solved....
And sometimes medicines liky Rescue can give a little helping hand if you are in such a deep trouble with your dog, but before you start with it there must be a plan how to go further. And reading your messages I am sorry to say that I don't have the idea this would be the treatment. What did you do with the tips and advices in the other treat you started?

I appreciate all advice. storm's trainer is full qualified and chooses and helps train all of the dogs needed in the British army out here in germany. He is also a qualified dog behaviourlist. i know that this doesnt guarantee that he's good but I have to put my trust in someone, and living here in germany, I am quite limited in choise. I hve been socialising him a huge amount and we have seen a big improvement. The trainer and a collugue have decided that he is terified of men and unsure of women. he can be quite skitish and gets very upset if anyone, including children walking into the house. I'm certain he would nip them and possibly bite them, so has to go on a lead and introduced slowly. The dog trainer has suggested we try clomicalm to take the edge off his fear of humons whilst I still work hard on socialisation. Im not expecting to see a quick result, we both still have a long way to go, and I hate drugs but if they would help to calm Storm, and aid his situation then I would give him them. My vet has not heard of this drug, he's German, but does have some other drugs. Im just so reluctant not knowing possible side effects. I am so grateful for any advice. Lastly Storm is on a haltie system and if he growls or barks at other dogs and humons I have been told to pull firmly on both leads, shout no. I am to treat all good behaviour including no heckles and barking at people.

Well Lisa, we have one dog in our practice who is on Clomicalm now, but not too long yet. They were advised to use this by their trainer too. Although I advised them not to use it, I think there are other ways to train a dog, they went on with it and it seems to help a bit. But, they use the DAP diffuser as well as a strict training regime. I'll try to find an information leaflet for you and you'll understand why I advise not to use it. On the other hand, a lot of meds have horrible information leaflets.
