Hi all, I'm from South Africa (Ok so we're not in Europe ) and I'm going to fetch my pups this weekend...got a pretty little girl and a handsome male. I've had a weim in the past so I know what to expect most of the time, but I just thought I'd join here so I could post a few threads and have some discussions with other weim owners SRXy

Welcome aboard!!! That is fine, there has already been a suggestion to rename this board into the World Weimaraner Forum, LOL. We have members from a lot of countries outside Europe. Glad to have you join us!

Hi and welcome on this forum. I have 2 longhair Weims. Both bitches. Mom is imported from Germany and daughter is from French/Belgium/American lines. Maybe it is a good idea, to change the forums name Irena, LOL!!!

Welcome to the board SRXy! NICE to have you join us. Good luck with your new pups--you'll have a lot of fun with them I'm sure. Slava was looking for information on South Africa in just the previous post in this section--maybe you could help him out. I hope you'll like it here and come back often, and hey, don't forget to post some pictures of your new family members when they arrive, we'll all be waiting to see them.

Wow, not sure I'd take on two pups at the same time! You'll certainly have your hands full. Look forward to hearing all about them when they've settled in.

moonbeam: I took two, because I've seen the dynamic that a brother and sister have when they grow up together, it's really fantastic. and they actually keep each other occupied and the chance of seperation anxiety occuring is reduced. They're a bit of a handful at times, but my fiance and i will be raising them together..... I had a weim male when I wa younger, he was such a beautiful friendly dog, ever since he passed away 13yrs ago, I've been waiting to get another weim (i'm moving into my new house at the end of next month). My brother <who has also been dying to get a weim> found out about this litter and phoned me, he got a male (they have a border collie already) and I got my pups. I drove 1100km (~684miles) to fetch them last week. I'm that passionate about weimaraners.

srxy, I see you are twice happy now. Because you have two weims. Btw. I have a special interest in SA weimaraners. Dad of my 7mth weimy girl Frida was exported from SA. His name is Altwic Zaggaria from Himmeler Altwic and Altwic Inanna. This male was the main stud in Moscow last 2 years. Unfortunately I couldn't find any info about Altwic's in the internet

I know this is probably late .. but, I have always been told.. better late then never!
Welcome to the board!
I would have been with it sooner, but Hurricane Rita saw to my power being out for over a week! But, I hope that you enjoy it here.. everyone is always so nice and helpful! I think that you will do well with your two new pups! I have a brother and sister currently and they are just totally different! As they mature, you will see their personalities come out! That is the best part of having 2 from the same litter!
(BTW, I am in Texas USA)
