Hi, just joined - thanks Wetdog for inviting me - I see some familar names already. Hoping to become an avid "messageboarder".
I have one Weim ( having before owning Golden Retrievers) that we call TB - short for TishaBishaKate.
She is 4 1/2 years old and we have had her since she was 7 months (previously owned by my son who moved and couldn't take her with him). At the time we got her we also had Sam and Sara (our 2 Goldens who have both passed away in the last 2 years).
TB is a sweet girl and I wouldn't trade her for anything. I never knew how much fun it could be living with a Weim. All our friends are crazy about her as she is about them. Again, thanks for the invitation. Mikell

Hello Mikell,
Welcome. Are you getting any of that hurricane over in North Carolina?

Thanks, Inicole, we're in South Carolina but so far safe from the hurricane. I have a sister and brother in law near Naples, Fla, however - haven't heard yet whether or not they will evacuate. We have been through some hairy ones here, though - Hugo, for one was extremely nasty!

Thanks for the welcomes everyone.
Elizabeth, I also live in Columbia but don't know your friend. I do know of a couple of really good breeders from the Charleston area, though. How did you meet Kelly - here in the States or in Germany? Mikell

hello, kelly was our neighbor in germany and she had two wonderful weims and that was the first time i met this wonderful breed, anyway then i stayed with her family for a years in st.louis and after this they moved back to columbia. she judged and started now to raise dogs for blind and handicapped people. elena smith lamberson has bred the mums of our weims and our last weim we had from merry woodham, also living in columbia. where is your weim from? many hellos from germany, elisabeth

Elizabeth, it's a small world. I looked up Merry Woodham and she lives in a neighborhood that was within a mile from where I lived several years ago. Even used to play bridge with neighbors in that area!
My precious Weimy girl however was from a breeder in another part of the city - the Lexington area. She was given to one of my sons and when he could not longer keep her at 7 months old as he was moving into an apartment he gave her to us. She is 4 years old now.
If I knew how to post her picture, I would do it but I am afraid I don't know how on this particular board.

Elisabeth, I apologize, I misspelled your name. I have an aunt named Elizabeth and am just used to spelling it with a z. It's a beautiful name and always wished I had been named after my aunt!

oh, that's no problem at all, because all the english talking people do write my name like you would usual do, so it does not bother me at all. you are so right: our world is really small! anyway nice to have you around! many hellos from germany

Hello Mikell! And welcome! I myself have a labrador retriever, which is very similiar to golden. Retrievers are very sensitive, loving, emotional dogs who are very attached to their owners - but you'll see, if you are active person you will enjoy weimaraners more than retrievers. Weims have their own way of thinking, they are proud with much of dignity and aristokracy, and yet they are very attached to their owners. One time weim, always weim! ;.) Welcome! Kristina

Thanks, Kristina!
Yes, I agree, Weims are a totally different breed!!! I have enjoyed TB now for almost 4 1/2 years and she truly never ceases to amaze me.
It's scary sometimes to think what all they are capable of! They are so smart.
Again, thanks for the welcome! Mikell

Mikell, You have to put [ img ] (with the square brackets, just as it stands) right in front of the link, no spaces, and then [ /img ] (with the slash before it) right after the link (no spaces).

Thanks, Irena. I'm not sure I still understand, though. I am not the most computer literate person around (LOL). Would you please explain again exactly what I need to do to attach a picture. Thanks, Mikell

There - read the first two topics. euroweims.proboards44.com/index.cgi?board=picsAnd sorry, just realized that my previous post came out awkward, the tags i wanted to post were hidden. But if you read the both topics on posting pics, you'll see how real simple it is.
