I've emailed about docked tails but I suspect they may not be allowed to be shown (as was the case with Finnish Winner 2004).

Wow, that is interesting! LAST year at Finnish Winner 2004, their rules said: Dogs born before 1.1.2001 can be shown in both shows and competitions, even if cropped and docked, no matter the origin. This includes Finnish bred dogs. Cropped and docked dogs born after 1.1.2001 are not permitted to compete in shows and competitions. From www.kennelliitto.fi/voittaja2004/start_e.htmlBut if it was at a show this year, then that is interesting, maybe someone can explain?

Sorry i forget.... If you have dog ho has born BEFORE 1.1.2001 and have doged tail then you can show it here! Like that doberman ho is born 5.5.2000. So in that case it´s possible.

What about imported dogs - if someone went to Sweden for example and their non-Swedish dog was docked, does that mean it can't be shown? Sorry if that seems a silly question or has already been answered - just wanted to be sure Nina

Here in Finland can´t show even import dogs or if the owner lives somewhere else. It´s guite hard rules. When we think to import weims other countrys where can doctails we have to know which we want when they born, before docking! But in Sweden can show docked import weims.

Thanks Katja. I know this has been mentioned on the docking thread but I find it very strange that countries put these limitations on docked dogs, when it is legal to dock in their home country..... Nina and Jensen
