My daughter is going to Spain at the end of September as part of her university course she will be a teaching assistant in a school in Santander (IES Cantabria). She will be there for a year and I would like to ask..... how do we go about finding an apartment/flat for her to rent. I have searched on the web but all I can find is holiday lets. Obviously she needs a long term let. Over here we would go to an estate agent or letting agent but do they have those in Spain? She is also on a budget being a student.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Lynn,
My cousin has just come back from doing the same thing in France. His accomodation was arranged at the school he worked at, with a fellow teacher. They were ever so helpful and arranged most things for him when he got there - can the school help at all? They must have had foreign exchanges before?

Hi Nina,
The schools are out in Spain and dont go back until the middle of August. We arent sure whether they will be able to help or not.

do they have a students uni?? Her uni should be able to help as part of the year abroad program through the students uni here but if not posting a message on the boards she might be able to find a spanish student in the area whose parents have a spare room going
