Hopefully anyone from the UK can help me with this question. I have qualified my girl Mathilda for Crufts 2009 and I'm planning to go! But in Holland and Germany where I have shown my dogs, I let them stand free ( see the small movie under this message). Now I've heard that I have to stack her at Crufts otherwise I wouldn't have any change for a placement..... (only based on the way the dog is shown..... ) Is this True??? Or can I show my girl the way she shows best .... Hope that anyone can help me out!! The movie which shows the way I'm used to show my girl!!

well I show my dogs, and because not all like being stacked, I will free stand my dogs or do anything to get the best out of them. It is true that some judges do not like dogs free stood or strung, as I have had it said to me. But I would just come and enjoy the experience and stand your dog how you like. But thats just me. Watching that video, I think you do an excellent job of handling her just as you are. The video shows that you are able to move her into position, and she is not messing about, going straight into a free stack almost immediately......
Do what you are comfortable with.

Thank you for your answers. I will just go and enjoy the experience and hope to meet some (english) breeders as well And I will show Thilda the way we are used too (the both of us). # Rachel: what is 'strung'?? # Alkemist : Thank you for your compliment, but Thilda is also very easy to show

By strung I simply mean putting the lead around the top of the neck and holding the dog that way instead of letting the lead loose around the neck. It can hold a dog forward if they rock backwards. Not all dogs like being held under the chin.
Enjoy the experience, and come anyway to Crufts. I am not sure if I will enter but I have 3 dogs I can show if I want too.
