I made a huge mistake and gave an extra large airline crate to a young couple to use for their large male weim. It was the wrong thing to do because ever since they brought it home they have put their large weim in with a smaller, younger male weim -both in the one crate.
It wouldn't be so bad if they would allow the older weim free in the house now and only keep the younger male in it alone. Their neighbor tells me he can hear growling and yipping/crying from next door. Then someone yelling at the two to "Knock it Off!"
I haven't spoken to the young couple in question but the young man asked his father to find out if I would take the young male weim... I just rescued a young male with health problems.
I used to be closer friends with the young couple but they broke my trust and I theirs when they decided to continually mate their female for money. Now it seems they might be close to separating ways and the weims are crated alot.
The younger pup should be getting close to a year old and is out of one of Evad's pups (Evad would be the grandsire) (Not an approved breeding) When the pup should be learning so much right now, he's locked up with a large male in a tiny space...
The sire of the pup was supposed to be shown, but was left to run loose and disappeared last fall after the pups were born. This is the last pup left of the litter and I don't want to be an enabler by rescuing the people from their actions...am I wrong?
Its a misuse of crate training, inhumane, isn't it? What would you do, recommend? I thought of asking the breeder of the pup's sire if he'd like to be involved but he was so heartbroken when Banner disappeared...and this is a pup from a lesser line...would it be like a slap to the face? How long before something happens? Its like a keg of dynamite, isn't it? Just asking for trouble?
