Hi All,
Craig Koshyk here....long time lurker, first time poster.
I see a few familiar names here (hi leslie, hi marjoleine...)
Some on this board may know me by my screen name Chiendog from other boards etc.
I've just come across this board and have already found some great information.
I am an avid hunter, professional photographer and writer. I have two short haired weims from American lines (and a Pont Audemer Spaniel from France) My wife and I have hunted everything from snipe to geese, to hares to pheasants with them in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota. I have also hunted with a number of Weimaraners in Germany (Baltrum) and seen many more in tests in Austria and France.
I look forward to following the various discussions on this board and contributing what I can.
Cheers!

Hi! Welcome to the board! I lived in Vancouver a few years as a child and have been to Canada several times since then, but that was before my interest for Weims. I absolutely love Canada and consider it my "second home".

Hi Craig,
Glad you made it here. I was just thinking yesterday that I should tell you about this site.
Little story about how the internet can make great connections. I was given Craig's email by Steve Graham on the Weim.net list before I came to France as Craig has hunted and studied Weim's in France extensively. Craig ended up passing me the email of an aquaintance he has in France, who, as it turned out, lives 30 minutes from me! I've become friends with Christophe in France and he's helped me a lot.
Anyway, welcome Craig and please, share photo's with us. Craig is a fantastic photographer!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.
Leslie is right, this is a small world. Not only did she end up meeting my friend Christophe in France, but I managed to help get Christophe a Weimaraner from the U.S.
Christophe contacted me a couple of years ago looking for a good male weim from strong field lines in the U.S. He was more or less at a dead-end with his breeding program based on French weim lines and needed new blood. The Meiferts at Westend Kennel in the U.S. were gratious enough to put him in contact with a woman breeding her excellent field bred bitch to Westend's "Gus".
Long story short: Christophe's' dog "Vinnie" is really turning heads in field trial competition in France and will hopefully go a long way to improving the overall field performance of the breed over there.
I had the pleasure to hunt with Vinnie and Christophe last month when they came here to hunt. We had a blast!

Welcome Craig! Nice to have a Canadian around. My great great grandfather was born in Nova Scotia, will get there one day, and we have a friend in Victoria. Regards, Wendy
