hey guys! I'm wondering - how often does hernia in puppies' umbilicuses occur? I mean - an average in a litter.  Do you guys have any experience with that? thanx for your replies Patricia |

For as I know, we see tummy hernia's here more often in American lines than in European lines....

Thats interesting that you see them more in American than European lines.
We used to get them more than now. I am sure part of it is probably genetic, but we find keeping the mothers off the cords really helps.
Do any of you ever see any of the other types of hernias ? I was reading somewhere online that if a dog has more than one type of hernia that their is a strong chance it will have a heart condition too. Have any of you noticed that ?
