Caterpillars

This has cropped up this week and I thought I would post some links towards some articles that might be of interest with regard to poisonous caterpillars. They have cocooned now but during the month of May and earlier in some parts of Europe these little beggers have caused havoc.

The caterpillars spines cause an awful lot of problems and you don't necessarily have to come into close contact with them as they can travel in their air and still be an irritant. Things to look out for are breathing problems, boils / welts or an irritable rash on the skin. They can effect both people and animals who come into contact with them.

I remember Sieglinde telling me about the caterpillars in Spain. At a certain time of the year they form a long line travelling down the road.

Hi Tasha.. we still have the little wretches here! infact the print from the other day stated that they may be here until the end of July!! There are several nests near the dog park down the hill from the house. My fingers are still crossed that these pests have been Falko's problem.
