oh dear thats not good Mar might be able to help but you might end up with a trip to the vets. Any idea where she got it from in her tree?

Not to worry. Just push it back as often as possible and usually it will resolve. If not, she might need an operation.
The danger of a hernia is that the guts can get trapped. The dog will become severely ill. Probably vomiting and diarrea and they become lethargic. If you don't treat that, they'll die. But I've never seen this happen.

When I read the posts to this question I thought I should probably say that a umbilical hernia the size of a pea is absolutely nothing to worry about. But as with all cases take her to the vets for him to check. The fat lump you describe is usually nothing to worry about. But you need to have the hole behind checked over.
Do you intend on breeding the dog?
