I have seen this tons of times, and our vet always says, leave well alone and it does heal in the end. I would not worry about it, and I would not want my vet to operate on it. I mentioned it to my vet on one of my dogs and he said that they see it all the time in Dobermans, and Weimaraners. What you need to do though is find out where the head was knocked, because sometimes a dog has a certain route through the house and knocks the head on the chair legs, and if their is a daily route, move the furniture so the dog does not catch its head all the time. However of course it may just of done it outside, but sometimes lumps dont go down because they keep getting knocked day in and day out. So check to see where your dog routine pattern is going each day. Rachel
