Seems Misty is most likely hypoT and Slade's results came back as close to normal which I find a great surprise and am insisting on more testing since my request for a full thyroid panel was not met for either wei. Meeting w/vet now...

Wasn't there a woman somewhere in America who is the No 1 to go to for thyroid testing. I think it was discussed on here a while back or maybe it was another forum. Muriel? ??

Dr Jean Dodds. Her test is the only reliable one, get your vet to send the blood to her and have it done right. Forget the link at the mo, but google her, you'll find her.

Thank you:) Finally got it all done properly this morning, with a few steps backwards;) The local vet has been skeptical so not very willing. He wouldn't read nor keep the information provided for sending the samples to California. Not willing to listen either, and setting me back 2 weeks plus payment for other than I requested, he didn't draw enough first time round so we had to do both legs on both Misty and Slade. He was a bit high in blood pressure at that point so I failed to ask for Misty's results he only had 3 levels tested but I will see today to give his payment and exchange her "simple" lab results for his payment;)
He still believes Slade/Bub is "normal" but I'm having Slade tested again, also, full panels from your posted link;) Slade is symptom free this summer for the first time in his 3 year lifespan...

I've got the HemoPet/Dr. Dodd's results back. Both Misty and Slade are Hypothyroid, along with something else going on w/Misty. She says to check her cardiac function and now Bully's two years old, he's got two symptoms (unlike Misty who only had one) so while having his blood drawn and sending to Dr. Dodd's myself again, we'll redo Misty for a biochem to try to figure out what else is going on w/her health! I have switched vets but must use vets from another city now, via phone and fax. Have also informed my instructors from the vet assistant classes who are both licensed veterinarians who travel so they will be up to date and able to help along the way as I begin classes again on the 19th of this month. Class is Wed and Fri nights so far, with a trip to Fairbanks Oct 22-24 for the lab work and I could take Misty w/me for further testing or treatment. Heart...never in my life, did or would I have thought...or something else??? She IS my heart, my sign sister...she's so Gemini...so alive, so precious...

Well Misty is now on her 4-6 weeks of thyroid medication and we'll be testing again to see if its the correct dose at that time.
I should be getting Slade's medication soon, had to order his. And I should be hearing about Bully's full thyroid panel results, possibly tomorrow.

Well, Misty and Slade are both on medication and I'll be checking the first week of November to see if the medication level is correct. Bully is healthy:) And Misty, Slade are both doing great on their medication. She is no longer cold intolerant and was bounding in creeks more than the boys already! I haven't put jackets on them yet, we've had a week of snow already but I did put a fleece jacket on Boris for mornings this week as he likes to wait for me in the truck instead of staying with the other dogs. I haven't had him in the office lately as we are moving offices around and will be building walls -I love music and whistling which distracts some workers;) Then I decided the 2 golden/springers could keep him company in the truck and they have body heat so its interesting and just right temperature for now-
