Hi there, My name is Ralph, have joined this board due to some very interesting discussions which took place here very recently. I own two weims (actually my wife does), both bitches. The oldest one is named Summer, she is the obedient one (meant in a good way), the youngest is named Proudy and she is my little scumbag\troublemaker. I like to think that they are real workers so we participate in obedience courses, bloodtracking, fieldwork, retrieving etc., we even did some agility. I try to learn everything there is to known about our wonderfull breed in particular and about (hunting)dogs and all there purposes in general. Hope I do on this board. Something about myself? allright......in daily life i'm an IT-specialist and dogtrainer, weird combination but that's what i am. Seen some pretty familiar names on this board and even though my English isn’t what I like to think it is, I hope I can participate and learn a lot (and will probably annoy some of you ). Greetz Ralph.

Welcome Ralph from me and my weims.... and foster baby Fallon. I have 5 weims and 2 kids and a hubby....last but not least... ;D.
I live in England but know Wim who lives in Holland quite well. We have met on quite a few occasions. I dont work my weims but I do a little showing and am taking one to crufts in March 2006. I work with Weimaraner Club of GB here in england rescuing and rehoming weims of all ages and that is why I am fostering a 4 month old... who by the way is still looking for a new home.. ;D
I hope you enjoy this board as much as I do....
Welcome Lynn

Hi Ralph, Welcome to the forum from sunny Oz. I, too, have a Dutch connection. I have the brother of a Longhair who now lives in Holland, Digger, Grausturm Extra Special. I don't think IT & training is a strange combination, they are both interests of mine, but I am no specialist! Looking forward to some interesting discussions, Wendy

THNX for a warm welcome, small world isn't it
Marjolein You know me, modesty is my middlle name
Fred thnx for the compliment, and yes I'm very busy, especially with other dogs than my own.
Lynn ofcourse do I know Wim, that is if we're talking about the same person. He's the breeder of my two bitches (the two grey ones that is, the red bitch is another story). I'm under the impresion that i've spoken to you at crufts 2005, but maybe i'm wrong.
syrinx I know your dutch connection very well. I'm a shorthair fan but digger is a big friend of mine. And the fish? another passion of mine, fishing with rod and reel for carp, wich is considered as a trash fish in your country. (when wil they learn) This one weighed 17,5 kilo (or 39 lbs on the old scale).
Sylvia wunderfull pics as ever
and last but not least Jaeger, where the f are you.
gr. Ralph

You are right, Ralph, a trash fish to be sure. Here, if you catch one, it is illegal to put it back in the water. They even make a liquid fertilizer out of them called Charlie Carp. The big problem they cause is by stiring up all the mud on the bottom, they are killing off our native fish. And NO ONE eats carp! I had no idea they could get that big - that is scary!!!!!!!! Wendy

oeh, we used to think like that too (long time ago). wasn't entirely true though But those kind of environmental discussions are not in place here. the carp grow much bigger then the one in the picture, have seen them in excess of 30 kilo (around 70lb).
But let's talk dogs

Jaeger, yes, my little troublemaker is in heat (finally), but your the one who thinks weims are some kind of big grey chihuahua's which belong on your lap. Heee Ina,I did meant Dani actually. I was just kiddin around but at the moment it is one big hormonal carnaval at Ralph's (one bitch in heat, one is expecting and one who thinks she's the queen-mother herself, guess who is who) and to prevent going insane i have to talk tough now and then.
