A thought just struck me, as I was typing away on an essay about the historical problems with the "Hebrew Bible"of all things...
Does blue, the disqualifying colour, ever occur in longhairs?

Ew. Seriously out of shape... the dog looks like a bad cross with a chunkier type Labrador, which wouldn't surprise me since the "breeder", active since 1969 or not, actually takes downpayments over the internet, puts out a standard SHIPPING FEE and keeps on wanting money (for breeding status).

There was a LH Blue at the 2004 nationals here in the US competing in agility. FAR better looking that dog on the Valkyrie site. I know a few others are around, not sure if they were bred on purpose like Valkyrie does.

I wish I had not seen this as I went looking, in the usual place, and found them, plus s/hairs............... and of course the blue bitches are double the cost of silvers ........... The long hairs don't seem to have much coat from the pictures though, and for me to say that is something, because I like just good feathering on the l/h's.
Also I found weimizlas - yes you guessed it, Weimaraner mum, Viszla dad, and he's got a good hipscore and 5 generation pedigrees will be issued!!!!! Only £600 - I ask you!!

It certainly does, Tasha....
And the mis-use of the term "pedigree". What they mean is 5-generation family tree - which is completely different from a "pedigree".
.... grrr - just looked it up on-line. The term when used as an adjective "A lovely pedigree dog" means pure-breed. But when used as a noun "5 generation pedigrees will be issued" means family tree, or geneology. So they've been very careful about how they've phrased it, to mislead Jo Public.

A thought just struck me, as I was typing away on an essay about the historical problems with the "Hebrew Bible"of all things... Does blue, the disqualifying colour, ever occur in longhairs? Because the dilute black trait known as "blue" in Weimaraners is dominant, a better way to express the question is "does the longhair trait occur in blues," rather than the other way around. Since both are simple genetic traits, the long hair being recessive, the answer is that a breeder could rather easily produce one, even if it hadn't been done in the past.

Not I. (I try to separate the biology from my own preferences, however)
