I was just wondering whether your respective KCs and/or breed clubs have any breeding regulations with regard to age limits (i.e. what they deem too young and too old) for both dogs and bitches?

Yep, we have them. Bitches can't be bred from, untill they're 24 months old. They have to have their first litter before they turn 5. They cannot have more than 3 litters and the last litter has to be born before the bitch turns 8. The dog has to be at least 18 months, before he's allowed at stud.

In Poland it is:
for bitches: 1) has to be at least 18 monts old 2) three excellents or very goods (over the age of 15 months) from at least two different show judges are required, and one of the three has to be from an international show or a club show 3) 3rd degree working test diploma
for dogs: 1) 18 months old 2) three excellents from at least two different show judges are required, and one of the three has to be from an international show or a club show after the age of 15 months 3) working test diploma - 1st degree
There are no limits in the number of litters for bitches and no limits for the dogs. The rule is - no more than one litter a year, the bitch cannot have pups after the age of 8. No such age limit for dogs.

Waow ! I find that very good and well done in the breed's way. In France, Stud and and bitch have only to be 12 month old ands judged conform to the standard....no more ! It's the same for all the the 7th group. Then, you can make so much litters you want untill the dog dies. Chris
