Hello I have finally found my way to your site! It looks like a lot of fun. I have had weis for over 30 years (most of my life really) and love them to bits. I have longhairs and shorthairs. At present I own three weis (2 shorthair one longhair - all girls). I used to do a lot of obedience but now I mostly show them and sometimes breed them as I also have three kids and work fulltime with wildlife (mostly whales and Tasmanian devils). One of the things I am most passionate about with weimaraners is developing better codes of breeder ethics. I want all my owners to be like Audry's mum Irena!!! cheers ingrid

Hi Ingrid and welcome to the forum from me and my new girl Holly, (Rescue age 5). Working with Whales and Tasmanian devils - sounds very interesting. I'm with you on developing better codes of breeder ethics but where do you start!!!!

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I remember meeting you at the dutch clubmatch marjolein. I met lots of wonderful people there and so many lovely weimaraners! I think the thing with breeder ethics (greyghost) is to just start anywhere. There are so many things that are important - maybe tracking hereditary faults or just setting guidelines for how many litters to breed or setting up good rescue clubs. I think a lot of people are already doing a lot of these things and the more we do it, the better off our four legged friends will be. Remember we can all be Dr Dolittle and speak up for our animals.
