Hi there, Can somebody tell me the conditions for exporting a puppy from Belgium to South Africa ? for the export from Belgium, I can have all the infos at my Ministery of agriculture but For South Africa ? 1) on which age can a puppy arrive in South Africa ? 2) Which vaccines needed ? 3) We have had a case of Rage in Belgium in 2007 so several countries have closed their frontier for the import of puppies from Belgium (Sweden (I am sure because a friend of mine has asked it in Sweden) and Great Britain (I think) : puppies must come there only at 6 months old after all vaccines + bloodtest). How is it for South Africa ? 4) if other thing asked, please tell me. It would be too pity if the puppy arrive at the airport and can't be accepted in South Africa. Is there specialized air-transporters ? thank you in advance for all helps. Eleonore Kennel des Brumes des Bois Belgium

no idea but I'd be interested to know just out of curiosity. Is it going to a club member if it is your might be able to contact them for advice. South Africa has a good club and i'm sure they'd be interested in any new blood coming into the country.

If it was not for ATF (Animals To Fly) Boris and I might still be in The Netherlands arguing and trying to get back home till he was at least six months old;) Not a bad thing at all, for he and I, even my daughter, but I think our breeders and also my other weims, along with my employer would not appreciate that;)
ATF offered to keep Boris overnight and put him on the plane next day but our wonderful breeders made the long drive back home w/him and then back again early next morning- much appreciated by (then) little Bori and also by me- they couldn't leave him with strangers. Once ATF put him on the plane, they had people at the stops to escort him through the customs and ensure he was on the next plane, they emailed and called me along the way, to keep me informed, too. Then I emailed our breeders to let them know he was safe w/me, too, as it was very worrisome to them to send a pupster so far away. The major part of getting him was I must come to pick him up:) This is how we also met some of the new owners of the littermates, especially Bora's owner:) Boris was too young for the rabies then so when he arrived in Alaska, at our town, it was home quarantine. Hope this helps.
