Hi everyone, Im looking to all our european friends for some help or advice, we currently have a lagotto in Croatia near ready to come to Australia....I have been put in contact with a shipper in Amsterdam who has given a friend of mine a really good rate to ship from Amsterdam to Sydney BUT they need the dog to get to Amsterdam, my question is twofold, one how can I get the dog from Zagreb to Amsterdam the cheapest way and also does anyone know of or has used freight companies who ship worldwide in a closer country to Croatia that we might contact....ANY assistance is welcomed as I don't often get emails from our breeder Im likely to get some sort of response from the list quicker than Naty...
also...when we flew a Weimaraner to our lagotto breeder she flew into Vienna so that may also be an alternative to know if anyone know of freighters who ship animals in Austria or somewhere nearby....

I don't know about Freight companies shipping animals, perhaps it's very different than other freight companies, but I've had very bad experiences with freight companies and know people who've had bad experiences. So just a head's up to really look into a shippers reputation and get it in writing what they are offering.

Narelle, I only know of this shipping company in Europe - never used them, don't know anything about them, only picked up their business card at a show in Germany. We enquired about them possibly flying our puppy FROM Aussie to Europe and they said they don't do it this way, only vice versa. www.petair.de/Also this one was recommended to me by someone - www.martinaircargo.com/However, from what I understand, it is BEST for a person to fly and take the dog as "luggage". Much cheaper (at least around Europe, e.g. large dogs like Weims fly with Airbaltic for 50 Euros - I was told that as cargo it would have been much more expensive, so paying for a person's flight might be a better option?
