Dear All It's that time of year again! For many of you that may have qualified overseas and are considering coming to Crufts, in addition to a pet passport, before entering the show, you will need an Authority To Compete (ATC) number - you can download the form from the Kennel Club website at www.thekennelclub.org.uk If you are thinking of entering, you need to apply for an ATC now. Don't leave it too long! Next year's judge is Stephen Hollings (Gunalt)Crufts schedules will be available shortly and entries close on Monday, 8th January, 2007.If anyone needs any help on the entry requirements, just send me a PM and I'll help you out! See you there! Daniela x

If your entering the keepers / beaters-picker up classes remember to complete your form from the BASC as well as the crufts schedule. There is a section on the kennel club form but I was advised to complete both this one and the one available from the BASC website.
You cannot enter these classes online so closing date is postal date stamped 8th January 2007.

Hi Tasha, At least some of us know what you mean, beaters-pickers up classes, you are a cut above the rest! There are still a lot of people over here who work their dogs but certainly don't get the opportunity to work a dog for someone else to shoot over. Not even the rich in Australia can afford to have someone work their dog whilst they just stand there and shoot. This is one of those really old fashioned english traditions that can't be copied! I just love it! Happy ducky hunting. P.S. our duck seasons have alll been postponed - no water and no ducks. Liz - Australia.

oh no well I will wish you rain The keepers classes are certainly unique to the uk its basically dogs that have been used within the beating line (which seeks out and drives the birds foreward to the waiting guns) and pickers up who then go and retrieve the dropped birds, keepers can enter their own dogs if they work on the shoot or not. People who work in the beating line or picking up don't get paid much its more for the day out, something for the table and the experience of working your dog, really can't be beat fantastic!!

I am so excited and can't wait...so if you see an Aussie loaded down with goodies on Weimaraner day, that will most likely be ME, so come and say 'hi'...Many thanks to Daniela for being wonderful and arranging tickets for me...

Hi All those going to Crufts, Hope you have the best time! Keep a look out for Dianne Brown (Silvasheen Kennels) & her husband, Chris, who will be there from Australia. Dianne is meeting up with Daniela I believe so hopefully she can meet with lots of Weimaraner enthusiasts. Cyd I can assure you Dianne & Chris will probably buy out the white ribbon shop. Liz

I'm afraid I won't be going now unless my vet gives me the all clear, bonnie is in season and it looks like from the tests so far that thursday is her peak day... I know you can show a bitch in season but as my rings are close together and mixed I am not sure that its fair to everyone else to bring her along.
