Meet at Village Hall, Padworth, Berks (10mins from M4, J12)
Cost: £10 per dog.

Come and get your Weimaraner SWIMMING or tackle more advanced water work.
Ever wondered how to get started in FIELD WORK? Come and try RETRIEVING and HUNTING.

All levels catered for:
from Absolute beginners, Improvers to Advanced handlers & Puppies through to Oldies
Experienced trainers to help you and your dog

DIRECTIONS: At J12 of M4, take the A4 west (direction Newbury/Theale). Keep on this road past Theale, towards Newbury.
After a short stretch of dual carriageway ,the road goes back to single carriageway. There is a garage on the left and then a Ramada-type pub/accommodation on the corner of Padworth Road on the left. Take this road to Padworth, go down to the village hall on the left and meet in the car park.
The venue will be signed from the A4 down to Padworth Village Hall.
(Reading services is just before the turnoff, and I go there for my packed lunch, it has an M&S shop in it! Also good opportunity for a toilet stop!)

Having attended this event last year I can definitely recommend it - it's an excellent day and it doesn't matter to what level your Dog(s) can swim/retrieve - there is something to be gained for everyone.

We are going - Zola and I that is - booking form completed and posted - wey hey - a first for me and my swim for England weim.

We went last year and Alister donned his wet suit and helped the dogs in. I had taken Holly to an equestrian pool to get her started before the event but should have saved my money as I was told all dogs can swim because of the air in the lungs. It gave Holly a bit of confidence (and me) if nothing else.

The hardest thing last year was to actually get the dogs to go that bit further in. Once in, off they would go. I took loads of black pudding and chicken to try and entice Holly in. She is happy going in right up to her neck and these freezes.

I might have to go in myself this year as Alister was a bit hesitant in taking her out too far but I know she can do it and it does not phase her. She quite happily walks back in again for another go.
