His name is Troy, all the details are now in place for the move. He'll fly into Stockholm Arlanda on 12-July. The cost for the dog and cat is 4 times what it costs me and my partner to fly over. We then face a 700mile round trip to collect him. All this has been complicated by the fact that I've also broken my ankle :-( Still 3 weeks and we'll all be in our new home Not to butt in, random, but couldn't he be brought to Kastrup (Copenhagen international airport) and then you could just drive and get him? Driving across the bridge used to take me 30 minutes when I lived a few miles north of of Malmö, so I guess it would take a little over an hour from Billinge. He needs a recent rabies shot and blood testing, of course, and his EU passport... which should be the same things you need to send him to Sweden. I'm not sure if he needs to be dewormed to come from Denmark to Sweden. Nonetheless, it would be a lot easier for you to go and pick him up in Copenhagen. Just take the bridge across and then show the vet papers in Sweden. It'd be a shorter trip for the dog too. So, if you haven't checked this possibility yet... be sure to!

Coming directly from the UK Troy doesn't need the rabies vaccination to get his pet passport, but he has to come directly into Sweden not via a third country. SAS say he's too big for their planes so he has to fly BA to Arlanda. It all seems very complicated and I'll be glad when it's all over.
We usually fly in to Kastrup it's much more convenient.

That's odd, I could've sworn the UK wasn't on our "rabies free" list. In that case, I can definitely see why you'll be taking him over Stockholm. How very inconvenient for you!

With the UK being rabies free, we're given an exemption here's the link to the Jordbruksverket page, sorry it's in English, but my Swedish is still at pre-school level
