hello everyone I'm the new boy I'm finally in a position in my life to actually own a dog can you guess what I'm going to get? In 2 months I give up work and move from the UK to Skane in southern Sweden to a beautiful 5 acre smallholding. I'd like to rescue if possible, this is a new life for me and I'd like to give a new life to a weimaraner too. Apart from that I keep bees, poultry, grow organic fruit and vegetables a lifestyle I'm going to expand on in Sweden look forward to chatting to you Random

The rescue part is proving rather difficult. The Organisations in the UK have reservations on my suitability as I am moving overseas. Which I can partly understand. It just seems a shame that some needy dog is going to miss out. It's looking like I'll have to do some searching and see if there are similar organisations in Sweden.

Good News I've found this handsome chap looking for a new home. He's being fostered in Kennels right now, but then he's coming to stay with Steph and me in 4 weeks when I finish work. In seven weeks we all move to our new home in Sweden. He's 20 months and an absolute joy. Thanks to everyone who helped bring us together.

Greetings from Skåne. Whereabouts are you moving to? It's looking like I'll have to do some searching and see if there are similar organisations in Sweden. I'm glad you found a dog in the UK, because I'm afraid you'd have no such luck here. Weimaraners are fairly uncommon here and so are animal rescue organisations (we have few stray dogs, so most dog rehoming services are small-time private things run out of the home of someone who likes dogs).

A small town called Billinge near Eslöv I know it... my father used to live there - a quiet little town. I'm in Höör, myself, about 10 kilometers from Billinge.

His name is Troy, all the details are now in place for the move. He'll fly into Stockholm Arlanda on 12-July. The cost for the dog and cat is 4 times what it costs me and my partner to fly over. We then face a 700mile round trip to collect him. All this has been complicated by the fact that I've also broken my ankle :-(
Still 3 weeks and we'll all be in our new home
