Hi everyone, haven't been on the forum for a while, but just want to let you know some of the results of the Aussie National ( and have a little brag!!)
I had my Longhair girl Ch Sinaway You Can Hope, and Phantom, Grausturm Ima Tassidevil in. I am happy to say both were graded 'Excellent' by the judge Mr M Poszkiewicz of Poland. Lara was placed third in her class, and Phantom was third in Open, with an entry of 23 (I think). He was expertly handled by Maree Pledger, his personal 'pilot' (that's because he doesn't run, he FLIES!) He is Audry's dad. Three of his puppies, too young to be graded, were there, owned and bred by Ingrid Albion of Grausturm Kennels. Two longhair girls, one got a third, one a first, and was Puppy of Breed, and smooth boy, also won his class. They are Audry's litter mates.
Best In Show was a longhair! A longhair won the last National, so now it is two out of three. It is amazing to think that there was about 24 longhairs there, and somewhere around 250 smooths.
Here are some of the results -
BIS - Silverodhar Boy Ndoubt (Longhair)
RUBIS - Gr Ch Kadma Touched By An Angel
Baby IS - Greywei All About Me
Minor IS - Ashlaren Geroa
Puppy IS - Amberys Rainbow Jasper
Junior IS - Divani New Kidn Town
Aust bred IS - same as RUBIS
Open IS - same as BIS
Veteran IS - Gr Ch Sinaway Gota Swagatruble
Longhair results
Baby - Happylea Kings Silver
Puppy - Grausturm Love In A Mist (Audrey's sister)
Junior - Ch Kadma Read My Lips
Intermediate - also BIS and DCC
Aust Bred - Sinaway Worldwide Winner
Open, BCC and RUBOB - Bromhund Tiffini Brushed
I haven't got the smooth results, but will post when I get them. Out of all the dogs there, only about 7 or 8 dogs (at a guess) were graded as Very Good, no dogs were graded less. I heard that the judge said that when he gets back to Europe he will raise the standard of what he considers to be 'Excellent' due to the standard of Weimaraners in Australia. So if that is true, sorry!
I have just got home late this morning. I travelled over 1500 km, and had to sleep in my van overnight due to very wild weather. But it was worth it!!
There were some other wins for the Grausturm Weis, but I'll let Maree tell you about those.
