I had another field trial today and to make a long story short, we won with the qualification good!!!!!! The first part of her run was absolutely perfect. She covered het ground very good, she used her nose high and hunted very fast. At the end of the beets, she made her point on a pheasant and was steady to the shot. It was perfect, but, I had to complete my 15 minutes and I made a stupid mistake. I let her go the the part of the field where the hare were and well, that was too much for her. First 2 pheasants and 2 shots and no retrieve. Then the hare scent. She lost it and I couldn't get her back . Thank god the judge was very patient with me, and waited to call me back till she was back (which means I'm still in). What a shame, that it ended like this!! It could have been much better than a good. Not that I'm not pleased with it When we were finally back in the cafe, it turned out I was first and the other dog with the qualification was second with a good too. The other 10 dogs had nothing. The judge then told me Daantjes first run was perfect and instead of a good, he wanted to reward me with a CQN. Someone from the Weim Club talked him into giving me a qualification. Which is ok with me of course  . But let me tell you what a CQN means, I just looked it up. It means the work was so good that he could've been rewarded with and excellent or even a CACT (which is a CC for the field), but because of a excluding mistake, couldn't be rewarded. I think you have an idea about how I feel at the mo?!?!?!?

I'm thinking about exporting all hare to England I had another special day. My first run was the last of the day, which was at 15.30, while I left home at 7 am . I had a field of beets which she covered perfect again at a high speed. She did perfect, until the end of the field , I had another hare and so did Daan . She couldn't help herself chasing it and she was a very naughty girl. So I just stood there, knowing using my whistle couldn't save me anymore and I thought it was over. Then the judge said that he had to kick me out if I didn't get her back fast. That meant I was still in, so I took off at high speed, trying to catch my dog in the corn. Well, I was extremely lucky, and she came back just before the judge thought it was enough. So we went to another field, to end my first run. Daan was knackered then and didn't do anything. I finished the field and again I thought it was over. But again, he proved me wrong. We'd seen one pheasant by that time, and the dog had made a qualification on it. The other 11 dogs hadn't had game yet and 5 were good enough to have a second chance. Well Daan was one of them. The last one again. The first 4 dogs did very well, but were unlucky and couldn't find game. Then it was our turn. I let her off and she made me sooey proud. She covered her ground like GSP's can do. It was perfect.... until the judge flushed a pheasant. A pheasant Daan had missed I still can't understand why she missed it, she never does miss game. Well, despite this very sad end of the day, I am proud again. Daan did her very best and the judge was very impressed by Daan and my friends Weim. He even said I would've won the trial big time, if only she had made that point. A shame, but we are very close. I have 2 more contests, one saturday and next wednesday the trial for the best dogs of every breed. Daan and I are already in!!! Not sure if it will work out, she is very disobedient when it comes to hare at the mo. And I can't do anything about it until after the trials, otherwise she might be a bit confused and stops hunting. Fingers crossed for the next 2 trials please!!!

Well, today we had the last trial. It was a special trial. Only the best dogs with a qualification from our group (continental II, Weimaraner, Small and Large Munsterlander, Drentsch Partridgedog, Epagneul Français, Spinone and Bracco Italiano), were invited. Unfortunately, there were no Spinone's, Bracco's and Epagneuls. We had 12 dogs though. This was the best trial so far. All dogs except one had game but unfortunately only 2 dogs knew how to handle the game. Daan was one of them. She was ill this morning. She'd been vomiting since sunday, but yesterday she seemed ok again. This morning she started again and didn't want her brekkies. When I was waiting for my turn, she even had diarrea, covered with blood. I decided to let her run for a min and if it didn't work out, I wanted to call her back. Well, it was tough for her, but within a couple of minutes she was on point. We both flushed the pheasant and she was sort of steady on the shot. Of course I decided to go on now, I had a qualification, if we didn't make a serious mistake. I couldn't get her to run like she normally does, but she finished her run without any major mistakes. That resulted in a qualification good with a second prize!!! I'm very proud of my girl. Not many dogs have as many qual's as she already has at this age. She's my little gem!!!!!!!

Here the pic where Daan came to point and made the qualification. You can even see the pheasant flying away on the left hand side.

Congratulations with Daans qualification!! To bad about the Hare. You'll have to look up the export regulations on hare and send them all as soon as possible ;D
