Yesterday was Thor and mine first time in obedience class We pick a trainer that uses the clicker and positive reinforcement. Thor was brilliant the trainer took an instant liking to Thor and used him in a lot of the demonstrations so he was getting double the training. I was real proud of him.

That's GREAT!!! I hope you both like it and stick with it. I'd love for you two to go on and earn some AKC titles together. Weimaraners have a reputation for being hard to manage, "hyper", etc.--and in my opinion, completely undeserved. I don't think they are harder to manage than any other working or hunting breed, and in most cases, easier. I think people who are familiar with the breed often exagerate the truth trying to "warn" people(with the best intentions) but with the result that many people repeat the stories till it becomes a myth that is hard to bring back to reality. Having well trained, obedient dogs out where the public can see what they are really like with some work would be the best thing that can happen for the breed.

Excellent, and congratulations for choosing a class that uses Positive Reinforcement instead of the old choke chain and jerk method (the jerk generally being the trainer).
I have the most versatile and accomplished Weimaraner in the UK to date, either sex, either hair variant and she is not only a good Weimi she is a good working dog full stop.
We regularly beat collies and GSDs as well as other breeds in various fields.
