Hey, everyone:) Yesterday me and Jurate have attended a National Gundog show:) Brera and Uoga were both evaluated as very good, we got diplomas and medals:) But some strange things we heard: 1st about ears: judges said, we should not smoothe dog's head because then the ears are curling!! What a bullshit? Next thing was about attending international shows with docked tail ( in my case) - they said I would not be evaluated:) but I have just attended CAC, and.. Nobody even said a word. Last thing we were shocked, that judges gave very good to a 2 or 3 year old bich ( non FCI), which looked aaa very far away from a weim standart.. Photo number 12. So, anyway, this show is non FCI recognised, so lots of dogs have only hunter documents:) And in the end there was something like best puppy. BIS-1 - a foxterier, 3.5 months, BIS-2 Brera, @ 4 months and 1 week:) BIS-3 - 5.2 months old kurzhaar. Strange was that when Jurate asked why other dogs, judge began to explain something about Hungarian Viszla:) He decided that mine was weim, and Jurate's - viszla:) So finally, as you all can see, this was aaa a funny show:) But it is nice to have those diplomas, isn't it Jurate:)? And the pictures are here: blueabyss.sytes.net/gallery/Medziokliniu-sunu-paroda?page=1Look what a nice Podenco Ibicenco we have in Lithuania:)

It was really very strange show... In our diploma near breed name was written: weimaraner Silver N Jazz and near name Waldwiese... So looks like we have new breed in Lithuania!!! ;D And one more funny story from show ring, in one ring Estian hund and Beagly were shown, and the judges thought that Beagly is Estian hund puppy named Beagly!!! And they said that the Estian hund pup named Beagly has many faults Can You imagine??? So when You think about it it s not so funny taht Uoga was called Hungarian Viszla...

Well Uogas color changed a bit, now she is more dear silver if You understand what I mean, but there is no way You can call her viszlas color. I don't know about the judges, it was our hunting society show and they think that dogs working abilities is in the first place and just somewhere in the end is dogs exterior, so I think that is why they are not the best judges if i can call them so. I will send You photos and all the story from this weekend tomorrow, as I forgot to take photos at work today.
Don't know, I didn't ask somehow I thought that this bitch is from our Lithuanian undocumented breeding, she had not the best temperament, she was afraid almost of everything and was very shy.

I think the dog on photo nr12 looks fine...
The thing is this is not show-breed and many of the dog's I have seen on shows have been beautiful dog with lots of forechest and extreme angulations.. BUT this is not how a weimaraner should look like.. this is how a show-weimaraner looks like. I really hope we can stop the development of two different breeds within the weimaraner... but I guess it's allready to late.
Sounded like a strange show otherwise.. but congratts to the great results!

well, I mentioned that bitch, because she has a bad belly. And as I understand, working dogs also have to have good exterior... Ah, whatever. And speaking of viszla , there is no possibility to confuse about weims and viszlas!
Well, we just had a great time:)
Ah, about the judges. I checked the official list of FCI judges in Lithuania, and none matches it.. So we can all see, that this was just for fun:)
