Hi,
Is the link missing that allows me to search my on hard-drive to select a picture to use as my own avatar?

Hiya,
I think it should be in your Profile, just above Preferences (in Additional Information). It says "I have my own pic". Let me know if it doesn't work.
Opps, sorry, I didn't quite understand I guess - I think there is no such link and you can't upload your avatar from your hard drive. I think the pic should be stored online somewhere (check out the Pictures section to see how to do that) and then the exact link to it put into that line that says "I have my own pic."

OK, I've got it now. I need to have it posted somewhere on the web already, I can't just search my own hard-drive.

I don't seem able to upload an avatar either at the moment - despite having photos on the web. Any suggestions please ??!

Could you post the exact link to your avatar here?
Some sites won't allow hotlinking directly to your pic. You could just easily upload it on a site that does. (See links in the Pictures section)

I'm having trouble, too...as usual, can't wait to end this 51 years of age, and onto the new age...51 has been very troublesome;)
