Hi,
We started 2 weeks ago with a initiation field training with our youngest dog. This course is organised by the Belgian Weimaranerclub and is accessible to all pointing gundogs. The announce was such a huge succes, that the club had to split them into 2 groups. A group for dogs belowe 2 years, and the other group for dogs above 2 years of age ! We had our first day of training. The young dogs had to point to a wing of a partridge, as good as they could. Of course, there where only a few dogs who did this immidiate perfect . Our female was very active, not a good start for her. But, at the end of this session, she was calmed down and pointed on the wing like a big lady ! For the dogs who are matured enough, there was also a rabbit. We use the rabbit as first living game, because then we can correct the dog. In competition, the gun dog may not run after a rabbit, the dog have to respect this game. We had a very interessting day ! Kobie

Ah, good story Kobie. Can't wait to get started again, although I'm planning to skip the spring trials. Too busy then I hope.
