A week ago the Dutch Weimaraner Club organised yet another NAT (natural ability test). We'd already organised one 3 weeks prior to this test btu since there were so many people who wanted to enter, we decided to have another one.
In total 11 dogs were entered and 3 of them were bred by me. Chara was first. She's from the last litter and is 1.5 y/o. We'd decided to enter her only a week prior to the test and managed to train her only once. She did very well during this training so we'd surely expected her to pass the test. Unfortunately she didn't perform at all. She didn't want to go away from the owner and well, you can't find no game that way. Sadly she failed.
The second one was Balou. He's from my first bred litter and is 4.5 y/o now. We were training the owners other dog like 4 weeks ago and decided to put Balou to the test as well. He did surprisingly well for a dog who'd never been in the field. The owner let him off and he started hunting fantasticly well. His search wasn't too good though coz he was really testing his owner in obedience, but for the pointing and nose he had max. points. Chuffed to bits with these results.
Callas was last. Callas and Balou are from one owner. Callas is a sister to Chara, from my second bred litter.
We've been training her for I think 5 weeks now. Marjolein, the owner let her off lead and she started to hunt absolutely brilliantly. Nothing went wrong and at the end of the day, Callas went home with the best score of the day. Max. points on everything.
Billy, my own male from the last litter and brother to Chara and Callas was entered in the first NAT we organised and he too was best of the day, together with and English Weimaraner.
It's always fantastic to see how your bitches gave their genes to their offspring. I am proud!
