Hi Seig and Nina, Yes I wonder about those girls sometimes, poor dog gets more kisses and hugs from them all day, plus they call him to them by calling him 'baby'. I went to work today and I also went on Friday and he cried and howled for me Rich said right by the window.. We will continue to have fun together and doo some great hunting.. I was proud of him this morning.. saw a rabbit and actually pointed very well and he waited until i said he go and chase it. It was a quick chase, rabbit went into the treeline and he lost it.. but still.. good fun!
Thanks for all the kind words.. I appreciate it!! jai and falko

Jai, Falko is your biggest friend on earth and always will be, with or without good teeth. Sometimes they are too strict in Germany. They also have their breeding problems and have to do some water in the wine. And I know they did it in the past. So be proud of your buddy Falko and enjoy live together with him. He is your Champion and hunting friend!!!!! Greetz Ina.

Big Hugs to you Jai and Falko, the important thing is you are giving him what he was bred to do and you can't go wrong there! Enjoy the birthday, Love from Misty Rose Dexter ("not good enough" either, as she has hypothyroid and she loves wearing my clothes) (Now to figure out how to make it smaller!?)

;0 Ina, I wish I knew how to get the pics such as Harper in motion for the banner or Foster launching himself into the air, without it being fuzzy! My eye sight and glasses, along with such small cameras, its all so confusing and I'm too slow...

Thank you Jai. Sylvia's friend made the banner for me. Sylvia and Menno also made the pics, because when I am working with Foster I never have the time to make the pics myself. I am very grateful, they will do that for me.

Well I am back from the Netherlands and I met Tasha and Mar plus a great many other people who are very into their dogs and their training. I have brighter spirits now since I have returned and have found other places I can take Falko in Europe and just a small distance from my home to see how he does on certain FT tests. Mar helped me out tremendously and between her, Tasha and Roel and the participants in the FT's I saw a differnet side of training then I do with Wolfgang! I will be adding some new things to do with Falko and work a bit more on the actual hunting and a bit less on the obsessive german obedience.. LOL I have a spark since I saw him follow a track that Mar left for a rabbit and he retrieved it! I was beaming! Plus, he again picked up on a fox scent! Everyone take care and thanks for all your support and kind words! jai and falko

Hi Jai, sometimes you need to foget about the control and go for the drive. Control can always be put it later. That doesn't mean forget about general obedience altogether just get the behaviour first before trying to stifle them too much.

LOL, chin is back up, head is held high (maybe not as arrogant as Misty's) and your hopes and dreams are back! Great thing, to have gone on your boy's birthday trip;) Great big hugs to you both, its really just the beginning, right?

Fortunately you love your dog and your dog loves you and that's the most important! How have you been doing with the hunting traing recently? Greeting Magda&Blaster

well Magda it is only the one on the bottom that is a little off. His bite is fine, but the Germans are very strict. He is a great dog tho.. and he is still having his fun and doing some things, Wolfgang has been busy lately with some personal business, but Rabbit season starts this weekend and I will see if we will go out with him and do some rabbit hunting! Nice to hear from you again.. take it easy jai and falko

Hello Jai, I am from Germany, and I never heard of that a bad bite disqual. from the HZP!!!On the result sheet are different areas that can be checked either for mising teeths,over- or underbite etc. A passed HZP does NOT automatically qual. for breeding!!!!The hips must be o.k. and a character test has to be passed. Not every dog that runs a HZP is intended for breeding. But don´t worry Jai if your dog is not german bread he wouldn´t be on the studdog list anyway. The german WK has closed down on foreign dogs. They changed the club rules last year. Not only does the imported dog has to pass all german breeding qualifications also the PARENTS of that dog. Now tell me how any foreign dog possibly can achieve that!! Greetings from Germany Nadja

Hi Calla, I read this: But don´t worry Jai if your dog is not german bread he wouldn´t be on the studdog list anyway. >:(The german WK has closed down on foreign dogs. They changed the club rules last year. Not only does the imported dog has to pass all German breeding qualifications also the PARENTS of that dog. Now tell me how any foreign dog possibly can achieve that!! Greetings from Germany I have one!!!!!! Baron Bacchus vom Gstettenhof!!!!!! Born in Austria, live in Holland!!!!!~Coached in Holland without owning huntingfields. I can tell you, not many. But: it is a very bad decision for the weimaraner breed in Germany and very stupid. I think in the future you will get a lot of health problems. The breeding lines in Germany will be closer and closer and that will give dogs who are not healthy anymore, get much degeneration of the German breeded Weimaraner. :'(And that, while they need MORE FRESH BLOOD in their population, because the population, surely of the Shorthairs, is not wide enough since a long time and the Weimaraner Klub got for some years ago the advice from a Professor in Genetics in Germany (sorry I don't remeber his name and the place, where the seminar was)in 2005, that they had a SMALLER population in their Shorthair, than in their Longhairs and that it will be better for the health and the quality of the German Weimaraners, to make cross breed with the Longhair. Some times there is a LHxSH mating and the Germans do it for the Longhair population, but.......they forget their Shorthairs. They want to have real "homozygoth" Shorthairs. When you all are to be honest to our beautiful Grey huntingdogs, you must know, that in the German breed also are many Longhair Carriers who are in two big, big breeding lines in your Country. The line of Odin vom Zehnthof and the line of Mirko vom Birkeneck. Both of these two mail- and studdogs have real Longhairs as fathers and mothers. ::)They bred LHxSH and many LHC came out, looking like real shorthairs. So it would be better to expand your population and use also weimaraners from abroad. And don't lay the slat to high. Than you have a good breeding program and the weims will hunt with a good health and less healthy problems. It's time that you know, that the strong rules in Germany are outdated and bad for a healthy breed. I saw, you are proud of the new rules , well I am not and I am a member of the German Weimaraner Klub for 23 Years, live in Holland, did all your trials with my dogs and know also this important thing: It is the handler who is learning the dog what he has to do. When you have a bad handler or it's the first time the handler do his VJP, HZP VGP etc., with a very talented dog and this couple does all the trials with low results, but...... have success. Then this weimaraner with lower points is much more important for the breed, than the dog, who has very low talents, handled and teached by a very good handler who has train dogs as occupation. Many times I, have seen those professionel trained dogs and they got first prices etc. but also i have seen very talented dogs, wich ones have to do a lot of the asked work out of themselves. Of those dogs, you have to be very very care fully. Those are the ones, when they have a good HEALTH, who are important for our beautiful breed, the Weimaraner, worldwide and not only in Germany. ;D ;D ;D My advice is: "look futher than only Germany" and you will see many many very good Weimaraners who could be many times better then the German ones. Think and look further then your nose and Boarders. Sorry all, I had to write this, because the new German breeding rule is not good for our Werimaraner race, and totally out of date in the now a days Medical dogsworld. Ina van Ringen.

Hello again, I would like to clear up some misunderstandings. The new rule that applies to all Weimis without WK papers does only affect new dogs. The ones that are alreday on the studdog list are not affected! Now to misunderstanding 2. I am certainly not proud of that new regulation!! I am one of the few german breeders that are looking for foreign dogs!! I even had a heated argument with our breedwarden Herr Giesemann telling him how bad that is for the breed. In 2000 the Weimaraner Klub baned line-breeding reason the small gene-pool.Now 8 years later all the sudden the gene-pool is sooo large that we need no foreign dogs. I cerntainly don´t believe that we Germans have the best Weimis in the world. But right now it is absolutely difficult to breed good sound dogs in Germany. This is why I get in contact with this forum. Without the help and cooperation of my fellow european Weimi-breeders there will be no fresh blood in German lines for a while. I do know how it would work, but what I need and seek is a very ambitious Weimi-lover with a talented young dog. Greetings Nadja
