Hi All, I've been knee-deep in work and a battle royal with the winter blues lately, so I haven't had much time to check in. I did however manage to update my blog. It features a new gallery of photos taken by a former student of mine, a very talented young photographer who followed along as we hunted the woods for grouse. Have a look. www.chiendog.blogspot.comEnjoy

Thank you Craig---excellent gallery.
The gallery sections that are in black and white harken back to the times when Life and Look magazines used to run photo-documentary spreads each month of some type story just like your hunt. Same type of look and feel.
It takes me back to a time when I think that journalism had more true ethics and dedicated reporting. A time when journalists strived to bring people truth rather than little sound/video blurbs meant only to be advertising platforms.
It gave me a very warm, and trusting feeling---anxious to see more and sympathetic to what is being portrayed. LOL, sort of like my mind is saying "Hey! You are being maninpulated here!" And at the same time, "OK!!! manipulate me some MORE!"
Who would have thought that the simple choice of shooting in B&W could make such a difference in the end result?
Tell your student he did a great job(probably because he had a good teacher!).
I'll be waiting to see more---and don't go so long without dropping by and leaving us a little post now and then.
Fred

Hi
I noticed from your blog that you made a visit to Spain. Did you manage to see the Perdiguero de Burgos? Many years ago, I made overseas enquiries about this breed. I was kinda struck on them.
Unfortunately, I didn't receive a response to my enquiries, and as the breed is not recognised in the UK, I would be interested to hear whether you managed to see any.
