Thanks a lot for this invaluable info. If you have a minute, could you list the states of Aussie where docking is banned and where it is still allowed? Just so we all could follow the situation. Many many thanks.

If you have a minute, could you list the states of Aussie where docking is banned and where it is still allowed? Just so we all could follow the situation. Many many thanks. Sure. This is part of my work I am doing for another one of my website but have not done too much on it: www.dogsandpolitics.com Victoria [ Vic ] Victoria - 1 April 2004 ban introduced. The Minister The Hon. Robert (Bob) Graham Cameron, MLA media release 22 March 2004 published in the Public Notices section of The Herald Sun newspaper said: There is some question surrounding the number of submission as quoted There is some suggestion this number is incorrect and it would be 1000+ submission. The P.B.P.C. is investigating legal avenues regarding the outcome of the RIS. No news to date is available. Tasmania [ Tas ] Tasmania - Full ban effective November 2004 [can not confirm exact date]. South Australia [ SA ] South Australia - A ban effective February 2004 but a review with possibly some exemptions. Western Australia [ WA ] Western Australia - A restriction, registered vets only for therapeutic and prophylactic reasons. Effective 4 April 2003. Northern Territory [ NT ] Northern Territory - 30 March 2004, vets only for therapeutic and prophylactic reasons. Queensland [ Qland ] Queensland - Full ban effective 27 October 2003. New South Wales [ NSW ] New South Wales - 1 June 2004 ban will become effective. There is a review period with possibility of some exemptions. The opposition will rescind any bans if they come into government. Australian Capital Territory [ ACT ] Australian Capital Territory - No clear details on the extent of the ban but it did come into effect 29 November 2000. As you can see there are two state which still allow tail docking. And two states which have a review period and this is one of the single driving forces behind setting up the A.N.T.I.D. so all information and images can be collated in a submission when this review comes up. Once again I would like to urge list members to please help promote the existence of the A.N.T.I.D. regardless if you live in Australia or not. By having something on your web site it will alert visitor to the database who may just be Australians. Many thanks. §ally j
