Canine tail docking ban announced Dogs in Scotland will no longer have docked tails from May The docking of dogs' tails in Scotland will be banned from the end of April, the Scottish Executive has announced.
Those who break the law face six months in prison or a fine of up to £5,000.
Animal Health and Welfare Minister Ross Finnie said the step had not been taken lightly and had followed wide consultation.

its not been finalized yet they are supposed to be voting on the exemption for the working dogs Not good news for scotland but at least its moorland up there and not as bad as the scrub that we have down here.

Scotland will not be having the working exemption. They have voted for an outright ban from the start.

Not good but at least the Scots know where they stand unlike us in England that still don't know the ins & outs of the working exemption!

funny really a few years ago the club was banning members for refusing to dock and now we will all have to stop doing it
