Some clever people that have "created" some mixed breed dogs, have finally "created" something called "Weimardoodle". Personally, I have no comments, just that it sort of strikes me when I see MY favourite breed involved in this. Labradoodles etc. I had heard about, but this is the first time I see our breed in this. www.dogbreedinfo.com/poodlemix.htmIf you do a Google search, you will even find pictures.

Irena the one I saw looked like a Slovakian Rough-haired pointer, and another looked like a GSP. I once took Storm the springer spaniel to be clipped and there was a 'labradoodle' in there. He was one of the first litter bred to be used as guide dogs in the UK. I could understand them doing that cross, as the result had a purpose in life, but I'm sorry this one confuses me. What is the purpose of this 'breed'?? Other than to create a novelty?? I like crossbreeds, I have a terrier crossbreed, but to me this crossbreeding is unnecessary..... Just my opinion ) Nina and Jensen

The people who "create" these "new" breeds are not too surprising, their only interest is making money off of them. Look at the prices, over $1000 for a mixed breed puppy. What is really disheartening is that there are SO many people out there who are so uniformed and guillible that these people ARE able to sell the puppies. It has been my experience "allergies" are a MUCH used excuse to get rid of a dog that is unwanted. The allergy is most often to any responsiblity or inconvenience on the owners part. Why do all this "breed" creating anyway? If a person wants the hypoallergenic qualities that poodles are supposed to have, why not just get a poodle? For the money, you would be able to get a very well bred example of the breed, and a great dog. They come in all sizes within the breed, from smallest to large. I think they are a wonderful breed, intelligent, attentive, loving and loyal, and highly trainable. Many people don't like the "mental image" of the breed--but we should point out that the pom-pom haircuts aren't anything anyone HAS to do, just give them a puppy cut instead. We SURE have a lot of work to do.
