Hello! My name is Andrea and I'm new with Weimaraners but not with dogs. I own a Cocker Spaniel, Jesse (a few days ago I owned two, father of Jesse, but ... you know). I'll be bringing my weim home this Thursday, I can't wait! I really need a new puppy and love to fill my heart with love and joy again, since the past few months were painfull. To se a beloved one get worst everyday is not a good thing to go through I'll post some pictures of the puppies for you. I hope to be an active member of this forum. Regards from Portugal. Deiota

Dear Andrea Hello from Portugal too! It’s always so good to find new weim-owners from Portugal. I am the proud mum of two weims, a 3-year old male, Iago, and a 20 month bitch, Pepper. I have been a member of the forum for some time though I haven’t been posting regularly. The weims keep me away from the computer!
If this is your first weim get ready for the experience of a lifetime. They are wonderful dogs, you’ll never know how you managed to live without one (no disrespect to the cocker spaniels). I have also seen the pictures of the litter and of your Gandalf. He looks adorable, congratulations, as do the other puppies. Their play area does not look very salubrious to me though but they are beautiful and I trust you have assured yourself that they are well cared for. When are you picking him up? Remember no self-respecting breeder will let you take a puppy home before he is at least 8 weeks old. I am sorry if I sound a little harsh or judgmental but, as I am sure you know, Portugal is entering the first stages of the terrible “Weimaraner-craze”. Weims are starting to get noticed and fashionable and “in demand” because of their beautiful looks. Some disreputable individuals are taking advantage of this to pass themselves off as breeders when what they are actually doing is just produce puppies irresponsibly and unethically. But I am sure this is not the case here and that I am just being paranoid.
Warnings (and my paranoia) aside, congrats on the new addition to your family and best of luck with a young pup in the house, it’s hard work but the rewards are huge! Best rute

hello. No problem at all with MSN. I'm sure Richie just found is girlfriend (Jesse's mother) and they're having much fun. But still, it's pretty hard to loose someone we love and lived with us, like a shadow, for 14 years. Wherever I was he was with me! But he's still with me, in my head, in my mind, in my heart and and also at home! Hope Gandalf can fullfill a bit of what's left empty. Deiota

Welcome to the board Andrea. I'm sorry you lost you old friend, it is always hard to lose a friend.
Congratulations on the new puppy! If you have any problems, come and ask us. We may laugh at you a little-----------but that is because there isn't a single one of us here I'll bet who hasn't been SURE that we were well experienced and knew ALL the tricks-----------and then got outwitted by a puppy at some time or other. LOL, I know I sure have!
Thanks for joining us.
