Hi All, Here a big smile proud sharing, my 'baby' boy (Junior Ch. Meander King of the Road) today passed for his HZP with 172 points. This at the age of 14 months!!! With a special thx to Folma Rademacher of kennel Vom Jakobshof, who helped me to prepare and inform me about the rules. I'll write a report soon, King worked very very well and beside that also found time during the tests to be a total clown;-) King already fallen a sleep......

Congratulations for your very successful HZP !!!! I know how much it takes for preparations! 3 more weeks and our little girl is running her HZP as well. It is alway good to hear when our beloved dogs can show what a true Weimis is made of. Greetings Nadja

Thank you all for your congrats and very nice words and yes Marjolein you'll see me at the fieldtrials in Holland when I can still get in a few. Allthough I must admit I'm already nervous, not about King, but how I'll be performing in the 'bieten'. The past few weeks when training on different kind of underground, some rough and high at the moment, I've been kissing the ground unwillingly a few times....... Nadja good luck, fingers crossed for you, anyway preparing for this, which was my first time, has given me so much fun. And not only King has learned and been developing so quickly, I think I've learned most of it and still hardly know anything..... but will keep on learning, because working with my dogs is just great!!! Okay today at the dutch weimaranerclub huntingtest, Havana and King 'failed' and didn't even make their basic hunting test today. But we have plenty oppurtunity to get that again and for the HZP we just had this fall, so that was our main focus.

I had the same Eleonor. You sometimes have bad times with the dogs, but doesn't mean they can do it. We went with Ginger last year to the HZP. She passed for the field with 10 & 11 points, but .... for the waterwork (where we were most sure of), she FAILED We couldn't believe it !!!! Altough, we were so green at the time, we just went without training !!! Of course, we had to train her a little Didn't know correctly what to expect... Anyhow, she followed HVV afterworths in Belgium, wich you can compaire to HZP, same things are judged, and this time she passed GLORIEUS, with max points, 130/130 points and 1st place !

Kobie, congratulations. :-*Foster got a C diploma on the KNJV trial last sunday. We both were not in the real mood. I found a place to train for the fieldtrials in spring. As you know, i can't walk in the "bieten" sugarbeets anymore. They are to high for me (till the upsite of my knees). I hope at the place are some birds, that would be super. What means HVV? Is that a special trial in Belgium?

What means HVV? Is that a special trial in Belgium? Hi Ina, HVV means "Hubertus Vereiniging Vlaanderen" - Flanders Hunting Association. They organize in each province hunting dog trainings for practical hunting with a test. Dorit & Cummel

Hereby a video of King on the Rabbit (sleep?), 400 meters wih 2 hooks. It's not so much because Robert was filming from inside the car and the weather was getting awful. www.youtube.com/watch?v=g40tf-TUf-wI was very very pleased with King's work all day, but I knew the critical moment woudl come wih the rabbit. King adores rabbits, he would really love to keep them, cherrish and kiss them. On a short distance like on a dutch huntingtest he behaves, becuase he knows I have long arms. But on long distances...........hmmm I'm not so confident in his planned actions. As on the HZP..............it was very windy and the wind was turning, so he had soem trouble finding the 'track'' , however he was very persistent in finding it back and never giving up. That is the good part. Finally when he got to the rabbit,a s you can see he picks it up immediately, however to cheerful to my opnion, cause I know him. Unfortunetaly I started raining very very hard, so there is were the video stops................................And where King's joy and game starts. He lies down the rabbit, sniffs a little, kiss, kiss, and than picks it up, while he makes the rabbit do 1 triple salto backwards and a 'schroef' forwards and cathing it again. But than finally he came, because I wasn't allowed to say anything, otherwise I would have a 0, i was very very nervous. Finally Mr King thought of coming to me.........when he was almost in front of me, I saw his eyes turn ears backwards and thinking, can I still hit the Road ! But he didn;t dare to take the risk, because he was very nearby and I was looking really angry at him, so he came and sat in fromt of me with the rabbit. Ofcourse the judges needed to check the rabbit totally, and it was still in perfect condition........some one was watching that rabbit;-) We passed with hight points on everything, except ofcourse the rabbit, there we just passed through, which was totally right because his misbehaviour.....
