Djinn & Eidides Brumes des Bois in FT in France

Hello to everybody, I am just coming back home from my French week in the field-trial into the beets . I have had the results I wanted

1) My dear Djinn des Brumes des Bois has obtained his 5th title. !!! He became Autumn Trailer in Open Field-Trial !!!! He is now Belgian Ch, French Champion, International Champion Belgian Winner & Autumn Trailer. thank you my boy I am so proud of you.

Despite I have missed 3 CACT from very very short. I have not the experience and know-how of a professional dogtrainer thus my results are not so beautifull but I have the satisfaction of doing the things by myself. (The fact to use a professional dogtrainer to present a dog in fields is a fantastic accelerator for the field carrier of a dog but it does’nt mean that he is better than those presented by a amateur).

He has obtained a 1st Excellent in the Interclub (7 breeds thus equivalent Open FT), he has not the CACT because of several interior turnings in his quest. Also a 3rd VG in the Open FT of Pontfaverger. 2 classments on 7 FT with 3 missed CACT (2 missed CACT because birds have not played the game, they have eliminated the dog without faults of my dogs. That’s the play). But the comments of the juges are all the same : his points are crasy high (18/20 or more) for the very large quests and mean of hunting + taking points. He can pretend to the CACT in Open FT without any problem. I missed just a little experience and luck.

2) I have also classed my young Eidi des Brumes des Bois, 1st autumn season in FT this year. She has obtained a 3rd Exc in the Open FT of Andechy with a juge called mister VG because he gives very few excellent to field dogs. Great parcours, 2 wonderfull points.
She has missed also a very big CACT at the FT of Fere Champenoise, very very large quest (all the field of beets has been taken from board to board), big point, the pheasant moved, Eidi was in the coulé when flying thus eliminated. But the comments of the juge was great : A future very promising and very big field dog. Impressive parcours but has no luck, the game has not played the game.
She missed also several other classments at the Exc from short. According to the judges, as Djinn, her notes are very very high and as soon as she will have more luck, the notes could be at the maximum and she will be at the top with the best fields dogs in Open field trials.

I was glad to see that French judges were coming to see me to discuss about my dogs and the weimies that are running in fields actually.
The young Scuba’s IW Harper, of Bene, and who is doing a wonderfull season is the son of my Billy des Brumes des Bois. Thus I am very proud of all of this.

Still 1 FT next week and it will finished for me in France this year. 3 dogs at the training + 2 dogs in FT, that costs a lot thus after that, I will begin to hunt every week with my dogs.

Pity you missed all those CACT !
Every where a problem, in France enough game, in Belgium too less. Game doesn't play fair games ...
And of course, a bit of luck is always nessessairy.

Thank you all. Yes it is not easy and i learn each time, try to perfect my knowledges by following professionals on the fields.

In Belgium, open FT are on natural game and it is very difficult for young dogs to find them and do their job, the game is not easy also and you need lot of luck + the good judge, the good field, the game, the good day for your dog, ... the avidity of hunting for the dog and a minimum of training on that game.

In France, the GT = shooted game on placed pheasants (+/-1.8 pheasants per dog). It is more easy and more difficult in the same time. The behaviour of that game is deconcerting for dogs used to hunt on natural game like my dogs. In the other side, you are nearly sure to find game (for good hunting dogs of course, but dogs like mine are also quick eliminated because used to hunt on a different way the natural pheasants. They are much more dominant on game and more nervous on that game because they smell pheasants everywhere and began "crazy" because too much pheasants. For eg : in Belgium, often no game or 1 point on a "run" for a dog, thus the dog has to run a lot to find and has to fight to find something; In GT, the dog has to control himself to do his job correctly . With a dog like Djinn or Eidi, they can find very easily 3-4 pheasants in 10 min. But you have to keep your dog calm to finish your time (15 min) without elimination. For a dog that used not natural game or not hunting regularly, it is more easy because they know only placed pheasants )but ... ; IN GT : the raising has to be perfect (rules + essential to do good job with that kind of game). That's why, French people have so much awards with dogs and higher awards than in Belgium. It is another type of hunting proof.

For me it is complementary to the natural game and for youngs dogs, it stimulates them for the rest of the hunting season and proofs on natural game (like in Belgium). That's why i go often to France in autumn with my young dogs.
