Hi, I have owned my Weim for 14 months and loved every minute. I try to give her the best life I can (walks, food, enrichment etc), my circumstances have changed and cannot spend as much time with her as i'd like she now has to be left alone for three hours a day.. Can anyone suggest some ideas to keep her occupied during this period? I have tried the obvious walking just before, bones treat etc.. she is becoming more and more destructive and I want to kerb it and don't like the idea of a crate.. but furniture is slowly disapearing and soon be left with nowt.. Thanks in advance, A loving weimy owner..

Welcome to the board! If you don't want to use a crate--then your only other option is to put your weim in a room where she cann't destroy anything. The same thing as crating actually. You will never be able to control destructive behavior if you are not there to correct it. You might need to put a heavy metal or plastic shield on the door to protect it---like the kick plates you see on the doors that get a lot of heavy traffic trough them---like the doors to the kitchen in a restaurant.
Any friends that your weim could visit and play with while you are gone? Maybe someone else nearby has a dog they are having the same troubles with---maybe you could get together and give them each a friend to spend time with instead of alone.
