Yesterday we arranged a LH walk. I think we had 20 to 25 LH's, which is pretty unique in Holland!!!

It looks like everyone had a wonderful time! I hope you can all do it again sometime. Seems to me like it shouldn't be too hard to get our Dutch members together-LOL, it isn't as big as Texas, and traffic is a whole lot better there.(no hurricanes)

Cool!!! My old dog, a GSD bitch, loved that too, and she was a very quick learner. (Took me maybe 10 minutes to teach her anything, really.) My dad however tried to teach Audry to "give paw" (a VERY basic thing, in his opinion every dog MUST know it! ;D ) and Audry wasn't responding too well - she did take the cheese he offered, I think just not to offend him ;D , but she still wouldn't "give paw". We gave up on it that time, but now a month later I just asked her to "give paw" just jokingly, and she slammed her paw into my hand!! She ACTUALLY got it!! She LOOVES doing it now, and has such a proud expression when she does, like "Here! See, I CAN give paw!", LOL.

The more silly things we do with her, the happier she is. She loves learning new tricks and there is nothing you can make her more happy with than that. Daan on the other hand isn't particulary happy when you try to teach her tricks. All dogs are different.

Wow, your walk had more longhairs than our National did! I hope that WHEN I get to Holland, one of these years, I can go on one with you all.
Irena, that is such a funny story about Audry, she is so much like her Dad. He did that to me at Obedience training. All term he didn't listen, he didn't do what he was supposed to. We got to the testing day, and I almost didn't go. Anyway he did very well and passed EVERYTHING! Wendy

Sometimes we talk about moving to Europe - Holland, Sweden or Norway. Pics like this of all the longs makes it seem like a good idea. We also think about New Zealand as they have no snakes. Early this year there was a (very poisonous) Tiger snake in the lounge room under my computer desk. Not good. I think Europe would like my dogs better. NZ wouldn't like my longhairs at all. Many snakes in Holland, Norway or Sweden? Wendy

Many snakes in Holland, Norway or Sweden? Wendy No we don't have many snakes here in Holland. Mostly you don't see them, because they are gone before that

We only have the adder. It could be deadly, but only if you're allergic to it. I'd love to move to Australia or Tasmania, but I hate these snakes and spiders you got over there.

Great idea! Then you only have to deal with Tiger snakes, Brown snakes, Copperheads and Red Bellied Black Snakes (all poisonous, but only three will kill you - probably) and Funnel Web spiders, also fatal. At least Red Back spiders usually don't kill people. You usually just get sick and have a couple of days to go to the Hospital. I think that's all.

Take a look on this pastoral canvas! I think it's portrayed by Flemish painter of 15th or 16th centuries
