Australia is in shock. The fires travelling at over 120 kilometers and hour have devastated many areas of Victoria. Over 100 people have been killed and that number is expected to rise. Many people have been unaccounted for and many of the injured people are not expected to live. Many dog breeders and exhibitors have been affected. Many lost not only their dogs but all their belongings and homes. Dogs Victoria www.dogsvictoria.org.au/index.asp has set up a relief fund to help the affected members. I urge any of you that can help in any way, to do so. DOGS Victoria Bushfire Appeal If you would like to make a monetary donation toward helping dog owners and their pets who have been affected by the bush fires please use the following methods: ELECTRONIC FUNDS TRANSFER Account name: DOGS VICTORIA BUSHFIRE APPEAL Bank: BENDIGO BANK BSB: 633-000 ACCOUNT NUMBER: 136225588 In the payment memo, please put your name or DOGS Victoria member number. POST You can post a cheque or money order to Locked Bag K9, Cranbourne, VIC 3977. Please note on the cheque you would like the money put toward the bushfire appeal. IN PERSON Cash or cheques can be delivered in person to the DOGS Victoria office at 655 Western Port Highway, Skye, VIC 3977. The offices are located at KCC Park (State Dog Centre). Claire

The Melbourne-based Print-on-Demand Art website RedBubble.com has set up the Phoenix-Appeal profile where people can donate artworks with all proceeds going to the Victorian Bushfire Appeal. RedBubble have promised to match donations dollar-for-dollar. The graphic is a Weimaraner with the text Weimaraners supporting Victorian Bushfire Appeal 7 Feb 2009. It is available from the following links as a T-shirt (from $32.50), greeting-style card from $4.55 and as a print in a variety of formats from $19.50. www.redbubble.com/people/phoenix-appeal/t-shirts/2572731-1-weimaraners-supporting-bushfire-appealRedBubble will produce the item and ship it straight to your address anywhere in the world. There is lots of other great artwork in the Phoenix-Appeal profile if you don't like the Weimaraner design. Claire

Our prayers are with all people and animals out there who directly or indirectly have been hurt through this disaster. The whole country must be in pain right now, even if you try to imagine, it's so horrific allready, let alone for the ones really hit by this.
I'm sure that everyone will help, besides donating we van all forward this to our family, friends, cobreeders and colleagues outside this forum.
Thx for posting and caring Claire, this makes you aware again of the real important values in live.
Warm regards and thoughts,
Robert, Leonor & weims

I think this is a very good thing that people are doing to help others in need. I hope it is very successful. And thanks to everyone who contributes, and everyone who is working to make it happen!
